Residence & Camping Punta Spin — Hotel in Grado

We experienced a very bad customer service. 1.Today morning (14.08.2024) we checked out early at 7am. At the security gate we gave back the card and keys and the note to get the €50 deposit money. The staff there (1 boy and 1 girl) checked the room and told us to throw the garbage then we could get our €50. It was our mistake not to throw the garbage (which are in the toillet and in the kitchen) but other garbage like plastic n paper we brought to the garbage place. So we did, throw the garbage and came back ro them. The staff (the boy) asked about the deposit note, he said he don't have it. We gave it to him actually. His friend helped him search and it was there, he put inside a plastic bag and forgot he put there. He didn't say sorry. The next problem he asked about the key card. He couldn't find it and it was not with also either. So he couldn't give us back the €50. We try to search back in the room but we found nothing, back and forward, sweating, but qe couldn't find it. So we gave up then after that the boy gave us tje €50 and told us that the price if the guests messing the key is €5!!

Why no one explaine since the first time that it will cost only €5 if we loose the key? Why they keep our money so long and make us back and forward our room-the security post several times, sweating, tired, late for our next plan only because of €5?!! Only at the very last moment he said sorry. Actually they should give us the €50 back by the moment give the deposit note, that is our right! Actually they've could just explain that to loose the key card it will cost €5 and actually they could've just tell us nicely that next time please bring the garbage away.

When we first arrived 07.08.2024 we couldn't open the back door with the key that the receptionist gave us. I went back to the receptionist and told a staf there, he checked and no one bring us a new key. Waited for 20 minutes and went back asked the staff then finally they give the correct key. If i didn't fo back n asked then no one will bring us the correct key!!

We stay there 6 nights 7 days 07.08-14.08.2024) but they provide only 1 tissue toilet. They didn't put any Stocks in the toilet.

They didn't provide the plastic bag for the dush bin in the toilet and in the living room.

It's a great place for camping, we stayed in a villa. It's not that fancy place but a great place for families. Initially we had trouble with the drainage system inside and outside of the property. We informed at the reception and immediately maintenance guys came over and rectified the problem despite it took two days to fix it completely. I was very impressed with language skills of every team members. I didn’t expect an Italian guy to Speak in Polish language. The maintenance guys were really helpful. Reception team was brilliant as they tried to give me option to relocate to different villa but unfortunately they didn’t have big villa to accommodate 2 families. One of the team members at the reception was particularly very helpful. Her name is Beatrice. We received free bicycles and also some compensation due to the trouble we had. Myself as an Operation Manager of an international chain hotel, I would like to appreciate those team members who went extra mile to make sure we were not disappointed with our stay and we were really happy in the end. Despite of all the good things, I would like to point out that the place certainly needs some updates in some areas such as better kids zone/ kids play ground/ beach water as the next camp has some water isolation system. Even though I was impressed with the swimming pool facilities. Gym area could be updated as I have been informed they are working towards that. They have Mini golf, Table tennis, lawn tennis facilities, Foosball tables (very popular) & video games. I would honesty rebuild a massive kids area instead of that backdated Mini golf area and keep only one / two table tennis boards and utilize that area for different purpose. Probably doing another small playground would also help at the beach area next to the bar area. It’s simple – parents want to chill out at the beach / at the bar & drink while the kids are playing. Liked: Travelled with an 8- and a 5-year-old and stayed in a tent pitch near the sea. The facilities were immaculately clean, with someone permanently cleaning the bathroom areas.

The restaurant was mostly very good with great house wine. The kids loved the little arcade area and the dancing every night was a highlight for them.

The pools were good, the slide in the baby pool was a little too young for ours, so they did not have a slide, which would have been nice for them. But there were enough deck chairs and it wasn't too crowded.

The beach was great, with plenty of space to build sandcastles and the beach bar was a nice respite for the parents, where we could watch the kids. The water is super, super shallow, which was great for the smaller kid who was still a little anxious about deep water, but it really never got deeper, so older kids would get bored.

The supermarket was well stocked, albeit expensive. But better than any camp supermarket we've come across before. The wine dispenser was brilliant!

Also being able to rent the power cables for free (with a deposit) was a bonus.

Disliked: The walk to the bathrooms was really far from the beach, where we had our tent pitch. There should be additional toilets at least at the far end, as it was super far for a little kid to walk when desperate. A couple of times the showers were also all occupied, so there is obviously a need for more facilities.

Another restaurant/ food place that offered a slight variety of food would have been good. The restaurant prices were a little steep for a campsite, especially as there was nowhere else to eat on-site.
