We have spent our summer vacation in this place for the 3rd time now. This agriturismo is offering appartments with own kitchen and also double rooms. They are all in one building on the ground floor, with a long patio along the building. All rooms have tables and chairs in front their entrances.||There is also a small lodge behind the building with a kitchen to use for everyone. This comes in quite handy if you are in the mood of self catering. The rooms are cleaned once a week and if you need fresh towels or toilet paper before, you have to ask. Breakfast is outdoors underneath a pergola, lovely selfmade cakes are on offer as well as yoghurts, fruit and rusks with a choice of jams, nutella etc. We personnally were missing some ham or cheese but then the Italians in general have "sweet" breakfast only. The swimmingpool is in a lovely garden with olive trees and flowers. Unfortunately this year there were no chair pads and cushions for the garden beds, the use of a towel only is a bit uncomfortable. Children are welcome and the overall atmosphere is nice and friendly! The owners are a lovely couple, always helpful and good for a chat. If you want to find out about excursions in the area they are very helpful and also there are travel guides and books with information for the guests. The nearest village is Rispescia. There you find several restaurats (pizzeria and a renowned fish restaurant). A really recommendable restaurant is Trattoria Cupi in the vicinity (it is best to book a table in advance because it is a kind of an insider's tip). ||Il Gaggiolo is situated in the Maremma, in Valle Maggiore near Grosseto and by car you can reach quickly the nicest beaches as well as the autostrada to any other places. Compared to what you get the rates are absolutely appropriate. Looking forward to going...
Read moreWe stayed here in July 2014 so a review is long overdue! Apologies if things have changed since.|Our son was 1 at the time and this place was just perfect. Quiet, off the main road, lovely safe pool and a short drive away from the breathtaking beach of Marina di Alberese, set in an idyllic nature reserve which is probably my favourite beach in Tuscany. |It's a family run place, very clean and well kept, the owners are super friendly and will do anything they can to make you feel at home. |The only thing to be aware of is that not all accommodation has cooking and refrigeration facilities. We stayed with my sister and her family and her sister in law with family who had an apartment with a kitchen so they cooked for everybody but if you only get the room you're forced to go out to eat or take stuff back from the...
