Palazzo dei Pavoni, Relais di Charme — Hotel in L'Aquila

This was such an amazing stay! The property has been in the family for generations and they were such incredible hosts. We enjoyed hearing about the history of the property and their recommendations were fantastic. They were able to assist us in arranging a private tour of the Gran Sasso including lunch in Santo Stefano with a wonderful guide and driver. The room was large with a great layout including a private 2-piece commode area and fantastic shower. The restored fresco on the ceiling was fascinating to stare at while falling asleep and there was a coffee maker and fridge with drinks and snacks.||Breakfast each morning was a delight with a focus on local foods including locally produced honey, jams/jellies and other fruits, meats, cheeses and pastries. We looked forward to our morning conversations and their help really enhanced our first visit to L'Aquila. That included preparing the private on-site spa for us after a long day in the Gran Sasson, something we highly recommend you try. It included a steam room, hot tup and relaxation area with robes, flip flops, and tea service. We felt like royalty and highly recommend making arrangements to try it one day!||The historic center of town continues to recover from the 2009 earthquake, and we're excited to continue to return to L'Aquila, since it is a perfect base to explore the area by bus, train, or car. We stayed at Palazzo dei Pavoni in last week of August, 2024. It was a most wonderful week. Located in the heart of L'Aquila, it made sightseeing in this beautiful city very easy. We were walking distance to Piazza Duomo.||The Palazzo is a beautifully restored building brimming with history. The rooms are clean, spacious and comfortable and have all the amenities required. Even a coffee machine.||Our hosts Fabiana and Alessandro were amazing ! They could not do enough for us.|They are both very passionate about this beautiful city - which was devastated in the 2009 earthquake, but is slowly making its way back to original glory. They were extremely generous with their time and suggestions of what we could do whilst in town. ||Breakfasts were amazing. We had a choice of savoury - local cheeses and meats - or sweet - cornetti and cakes. Coffee was great - Alessandro makes a great cappuccino.||L'Aquila is a most beautiful city - it has wonderful buildings and history. And amazing food. I'm still dreaming about some of the meals we had. Pasta with saffron and pork - yum !!! Il Palazzo dei Pavoni - Relais di Charme è senza dubbio un gioiello nascosto nel centro storico della città. Il titolo che mi sento di attribuire a questa struttura è "Un'oasi di tranquillità nel cuore della città" perché è proprio questo ciò che ho sperimentato durante il mio soggiorno.||Nonostante sia situato in un vicoletto a soli un minuto dal corso principale, questa struttura si distingue grazie al suo magnifico portone in legno, adornato dallo stemma della famiglia. Appena entrati, si viene accolti da un cortile molto curato che trasuda storia e tradizione. È importante sottolineare che, essendo un palazzo storico, non vi è ascensore, ma personalmente questa caratteristica non ha rappresentato un problema durante il mio soggiorno.||L'interno del Palazzo dei Pavoni è un vero e proprio tuffo nel passato. Il mobilio storico antico è la bellissima ristrutturazione creano un'atmosfera calda e accogliente. All'interno della sala comune, dedicata alla colazione preparata dai proprietari, si trova un camino con sopra una grata che sembra un quadro, un dettaglio che aggiunge ulteriore fascino a questo meraviglioso luogo.||Le stanze sono impeccabili, caratterizzate da una pulizia ineccepibile e da un profumo dolce e piacevole. I proprietari di questo relais sono estremamente gentili e ospitali, ma la vera chicca che rende questo luogo speciale è la colazione servita anche dopo l'orario previsto. Nonostante il cartello "non disturbare" sulla porta, ho potuto gustare una colazione deliziosa tranquillamente, grazie alla disponibilità dei gestori.||La spa, disponibile a un prezzo modico, è una vera zona relax in cui i proprietari lasciano i clienti godere della propria privacy senza disturbare minimamente. |Nel mio caso, ho causato un piccolo disguido ai proprietari, e sono stati molto gentili e pazienti nel risolvere la situazione. Questo dimostra la loro passione e dedizione nei confronti del proprio lavoro, che traspare in ogni minimo dettaglio del Palazzo dei Pavoni.||Una nota positiva da sottolineare è l'attenzione che viene riservata alla privacy in ogni parte della struttura. La sensazione di intimità e tranquillità è presente in ogni momento del soggiorno, permettendo ai clienti di rilassarsi completamente e godersi appieno l'esperienza.||In conclusione, consiglio vivamente il Palazzo dei Pavoni - Relais di Charme a chiunque desideri vivere un'esperienza unica nel centro storico della città.
