We travelled to La Lanterna in September 2014 (late to review). We were travelling with friends and this was our 4th B&B and it was great. Elisa and Erico are very warm and friendly. Erico picked us up at the train station and made 2 trips getting the 4 of us. Elisa had all the papers and information for us such as schedules, maps, and restaurants. We felt very welcomed. Erico drove us to a restaurant that evening and picked us up as well. The B&B is out of town but easy walking along the side of the road so you do have to be vigilant until you hit some sidewalks. It is a dark walk at night but all good. There are two rooms. One on the upper terrace and the other on the main terrace. Our rooms were large and VERY CLEAN and had a coffee machine and small snacks in each room. Bathrooms were very nice. The rooms were cleaned each day. There was a wifi password for each room and it worked wonderfully. Breakfast was set out for us on either the top terrace or the main level terrace. There was fruit, yogurt, sweets, and bread. Coffee and juice as well. When we returned in the evening, Elisa always greeted us to see how the day went. We would certainly return here as the area is quite lovely. Elisa recommended the boat taxi to Port Venere and then visit each of the villages on the way back. Great suggestion as we were able to see the villages from the ocean and enjoy the scenery on the sail to Port Venere. We walked from Chiglia to Vernazza - 3.4 KM - and it is an fairly demanding walk. The trails are more rugged than I envisioned and was very glad I had worn shoes rather than sandals. There are some beautiful vistas that you don't see riding the train or from the boat. Each of the villages has its own charm and it was fun disembarking and embarking at each one. We enjoyed all the food and wine we had. Lots of uphill! Erico took us back to the train station in two trips when we had to leave. It was...
Read moreThe owners of this B & B are doing everything so you feel confortable at there place.||The rooms are situated next to there house so you have still a privat feeling here. ||Every room has also a little terras where the owners has put a table and 2 chairs outside so you can also sit outside. ||The rooms are new and very spacious. There is also a coffeemachine available with toast, etc ... During my stay my breakfast was every morning servid with fresh bread, juice, water, jam, Nutella :-), ... so a lot of variarity for Italian rules. ||To the center and railwaystation its just 15 minutes walking and Enrico (owner) can bring you if you want. ||From the railwaystation you have a lot of trains who are leaving from Levanto. I visited the villages at Cinque Terre but also St Margharita and La Spezia. ||||I can recommend everybody who wants to stay at a quiet, clean and nice place where the owners are doing really everything so you...
Read moreWe picked this based on the amenities and price and we weren't disappointed. As other reviews state it is not in one of the five towns (a plus as it turned out) and a 10 min walk from the train station/20 min from town, but Elisa and Enrico make it so you don't have to walk unless you want to. We were very happy with the location as the 5 towns are so crazy and you take the train between the towns, so taking one from Levanto wasn't a big deal. We loved Levanto. Plenty of restaurants, a great, but tough hike from Levanto to Montorosso, and a nice walk/bike path hugging the other side of the coast. The room was spacious and comfortable with its own AMAZING espresso/cappuccino machine and electric kettle with supplies. Milk, water & juice in the fridge. A HUGE basket of food in the morning with croissants, bread, yogurt, sliced fruit & fruit bowl, salami and cheese. We only have compliments for Elisa and...
