Popilia Country Resort — Hotel in Maierato

My wife and I were touring (from MALTA) the SIla National Park and by chance stumbled on this piece of Italian paradise while looking for a place to stay in/near Pizzo. What an impressive place to stay. The narrow road to get to it from the SS18 goes true some beautiful countryside which makes the whole experience a winner from the start..... And where does one start? The place is like a Garden of Eden. The grounds are taken care of by an exceptional team of gardeners who would win a Gold Medal in Gardening Olympic games if such a competition where to exist. Beautiful lawns, all plants in full bloom (end September), Fruit trees full of fruit, Olive trees ready for harvesting...Not a leaf out of place. The landscaping is truly impressive. All their hedges immaculately trimmed, a huge pool so relaxing and with a tall hedge to add even more privacy and quiet. The grounds are huge with a small farm area holding goats, pigs, donkeys, rabbits and a horse... And they are all so very friendly. Waking up every morning and going for a good walk around the grounds is a must before breakfast i feel. The small lake next to a beautifully grown mini forest is like it just came from a fairy tale. Then you meet the staff and they are the most helpful and courteous you can get. Very helpful and always with a smile. The food is incredible especially for the price you pay. The chef really knows what he's doing.. Breakfast is excellent with a great variety of English, continental choices. Then there are the rooms... We were lucky. The first night we were given a room in the Hotel part (we were only staying one night) so as not to carry too much from our bikes to the rooms which were the shortest walk. However we immediately decided to spend a second night there and since our room was booked for the next day we were given a bungalow type room called a Casale (like a mini house). Both were super comfortable and we couldn't recommend one over the other.... So would we go back? Yes and we've told all our friends and family.... The...

We’ve just returned to the UK from a wonderful trip. The resort is beautiful- it’s alive with animals, birds and plant life. The birds I heard with my bird app were incredible. The bungalows were perfect for our family, giving us space and privacy. The weather was a little cold and cloudy as it was April, but we had plenty to do, playing mini golf, taking the mountain bikes out and spending time with the animals. The pool looked gorgeous and a good size but too cold to go in this time. The views are incredible! The staff were helpful, friendly and nothing was too much trouble. Everyone spoke good English and we were able to check in early and check out late without fuss. Internet was tricky to connect to, but fast and good when we did. We took a taxi to Pizzo, which is just lovely too. It’s worth knowing that the resort is accessed via a steep and slightly winding road, so prepare for this if driving- but this is why there is the view! We thought the restaurant was very good too, a little fine dining but the tuna and swordfish in particular were delicious. |We loved it here and will definitely...

Personale Hotel e Accoglienza: Il personale del Popilia Report si distingue per la gentilezza, l'attenzione e la cordialità. L'accoglienza calorosa e l'assistenza impeccabile meritano 5 stelle più lode.

Personale Manutenzione: Abbiamo avuto un problema purtroppo serio con l'impianto di condizionamento del nostro chalet. Il personale della manutenzione, subito intervenuto, si è distinto per la gentilezza, l'attenzione, la professionalità e la cordialità. L'assistenza impeccabile merita 5 stelle più lode.

Ristorante: La professionalità del servizio e l'attenzione ai giusti tempi di presentazione delle portate sono state notevoli. Ottimo supporto nella scelta dei vini e un menù di prima qualità con abbinamenti originali. Se proprio devo individuare un piccolo neo, forse riguarda la cottura della pasta, che ho trovato a volte troppo al dente. Ma questi sono gusti personali che non incidono sul giudizio specifico e che scrivo solo per informazione. Servizio e cucina meritano senza dubbio 5 stelle più lode.

Esterni e Aree Comuni: Gli esterni, la piscina, il ristorante e gli ambienti comuni sono curati e di classe. Il design elegante e la pulizia sono notevoli, guadagnando un meritato 5 stelle.

Internet: ll servizio internet offre margini di miglioramento. La connessione potrebbe essere migliorata per garantire una maggiore stabilità e copertura di tutte le aree del resort, specialmente nelle ore di punta. Valutazione: 3 stelle.

Parcheggio: Il parcheggio offre spazio sufficiente, ma presenta alcuni aspetti migliorabili. Sarebbe preferibile un parcheggio coperto e lontano dagli irrigatori, per evitare che le auto si bagnino e si macchino di calcare, specialmente in occasione di cerimonie. Attuale valutazione: 3 stelle.

Manutenzione Camere: La gestione e i tempi della manutenzione delle camere necessitano di una revisione. Durante il soggiorno, il nostro impianto di condizionamento non funzionava correttamente, influenzando negativamente il comfort. Sebbene il personale della manutenzione sia intervenuto tempestivamente e in maniera professionale, il problema non è stato risolto immediatamente. Alla fine, ci è stata offerta una soluzione alternativa soddisfacente, merito dell'eccellente servizio di reception. Consigliamo comunque un controllo delle camere prima dell'arrivo degli ospiti. Valutazione attuale: 3 stelle.

Servizio Cerimonie: Abbiamo partecipato a un matrimonio al Popilia Report e siamo rimasti estremamente soddisfatti. Il servizio è stato impeccabile, attento ai dettagli e ai tempi, garantendo un'esperienza di assoluto livello. Il catering, le diverse location e il personale si sono distinti con lode. 5 stelle più lode.

Un'esperienza complessivamente molto positiva, con eccellenze in diversi ambiti e qualche margine di miglioramento che comunque non inficia una valutazione molto positiva che mi sento di esprimere senza alcun dubbio....
