Mini Hotel Iris is indeed small but clean and well kept with nice decoration.||||A breakfast is provided daily which includes per person 1 xcroissant, 1 x bread roll, cold toasted bread, a small cake, glass of juice a hot drink of your choice and chice of jams. This is nice for the first day or so however very repetitive for the week.||||The room is cleaned daily and fresh towels provided. It seems all the cleaning is done in the morning. My boyfriend and I preferred to stay in and go out after lunch to miss the midday heat. The hotel rang our room daily to ask when we were going out so they could clean it. I appreciate a clean room however felt bothered being called everyday.||||I cannot lie that I was disappointed with my stay as on the Friday evening of our first night stay the air conditioning stopped working. The Saturday morning we were provided with one small fan. I asked what would happen and they advised it should be fixed on Monday which I understand it must be hard to get parts/engineer on the weekend.||My boyfriend and I were hardly able to sleep the Saturday or Sunday night and on Monday it was not fixed. After being out in the heat all day we wanted to be able to have an afternoon sleep but this was also impossible. ||I then asked if we could have another additional fan which I was initially told no. The girl then brought a larger additional fan. The thing I found annoying is that whilst giving me the fan, she said that if they need it then they will take it back. How they think that one or two fans are anything compared to air conditioned and dare say that we may only have one fan if they need the other fan back is infuriating.||We did sleep better with the two fans but it was still very warm. We had to keep the windows open at all times to allow the room to air. The rooms do not have any mosquito netting so we were bitten all over during the night in our sleep. Also it can be quite noisy in the early morning with scooters, dogs barking, and building work across the water. My boyfriend did'nt seem to hear any of this however I was woken early each morning as we had to have the window open.||||I wrote a complaint to Booking.com after this asking as I had booked the place expecting the facility of air conditioning and this was still broken after 4 days what could I expect. As I understand Booking, com sent a reply email to say they had received my email and then without my knowledge contacted the hotel however this would explain why the hotel suddenly offered the electric bikes to us free of charge. The hotel is about a 30 minute walk from the coast/town centre. It is only surrounded by other houses so the bikes are a relief from the walk as it can get tedious. We were also then offered a larger room. We however declined this for a number of reasons; we thought the air conditioning would be fixed the next day as we were not told any other way, we woud need to move all our things and I cannot see that another room would be any cooler.||||They have a total of two bikes which have electric motors. Unfortunatly the motor has been fitted at the back and prevents the seat from being fully lowered. I am 5ft2 and the seat was too high so I was only just about the search the floor with my toe when stopping. I would suggest that they adjust the positioning of the electric motor. Also you must return the bikes by 9pm so if you wish to go back out in the evening you will need to walk.||||We had the standard double room. It is clean and nice neutral decor but fairly compact. The place is well kept and the staff are friendly. Be aware that it is a 30 minute walk from coast/ town centre, maybe 20 mins if you power walk. It is in beautiful surroundings but there are no...
Read moreThank you so much to the lovely family who run the hotel for an amazing stay! From start to finish they were friendly, helpful and made the trip personal to us. The morning breakfast served on the lovely terrace overlooking the lemon groves was delicious, a perfect start to the day of toast, croissants, fruit and homemade cakes. On the mornings where we had rain, they brought the breakfast in our room so we could have breakfast in bed, amazing! They also packed up breakfasts and left them in our room, without us having to ask, on days where we were leaving before breakfast started, even on the morning we went home. ||The hotel itself is small and cosy but modern, helpful features such as USB cables in the walls next to the bed for phones/tablets were very helpful to save having to use European adapters. The room was nice and we slept very well each night. It's around a 20-25 minute walk to the beach and the main town where the bars and restaurants are but I would still happily stay at the hotel again. ||Staying in Maiori is the perfect place to explore the Amalfi Coast as the restaurants and bars are much cheaper (but still really good!) and less touristy than some of the other towns, but is still a short drive to the main sites. The beach is also one of the nicest that we visited on the coast. ||Thank you again...
Read moreI can't comment on this B&B as we never got inside it! Although we advised the establishment when we would arrive (2pm) which was within the stated times we waited outside for 45 mins and gave up although this was partly also due to our disappointment with the location which we had plenty of time to study. We booked through booking.com who have seen their mistake and refunded our money however, it stated that the hotel is 0.1 of a mile from the centre and it's almost 2 miles. Only a few contributors have written about the location which is down a horrible single road past a factory, shabby and ugly. It's a bit like a concrete road to an industrial area. No place for a holiday. We had pre booked parking at E10 but it's their own car park and there's parking outside. I have no idea what the proprietiers are like but We didn't exactly get a warm welcome. Someone even commented on the 'lovely river' walk in to town... it's not a river but a man made channel of water. I know I'm in the minority here but we couldn't stay here as it's no place...
