With very few guests it was a calm and quiet hotel. Except for the occasional bad idea to play loud pop music in the restaurant and around the pool area, the design of the outdoor area (and bungalow area) is streamlined, bright colored and aesthetically pleasing. The Villa Favorita Hotel and resort was a good experience both as a hotel and as a place to dine.||The hotel is easy to find - However the GPS is unaware of a small road that connects the hotel directly to the main road and therefore takes you down one of the smaller side roads. Follow the GPS the first time and thereafter you can use the shortcut to get to and from the hotel. As the hotel is around two kilometers from downtown Marsala, you will need some sort of transportation (car, bicycle).||Check-in and check-out was fast and professional, and was conducted in good English.||Most of the staff speaks English. ||The hotel offers free parking in a fenced and supervised area.||The Bungalows (igloos) are spacious and can easily accommodate two adults, a child and a teenager. The Bungalow (igloo) with a garden view (which is what we had) has a small semi-private patch in front of the bungalow - bring a drink from the bar and enjoy the evening after a hot day.||The interior of the Igloo was minimalistic and well maintained. The bathroom is spacious and offers a shower cabin. There is only one aircon, which is placed in the bedroom - it does the job and is able to keep the âIglooâ at a pleasant temperature, but only works with the main door closed.||The refrigerator is a very small camping refrigerator that barely lowers the temperature of the goods inside. A better fridge would improve the experience.||The WiFi is fast and reliable (down btw 6-9 Mbits/s up btw 0.5 - 0.9 MBits/s) and the coverage is good around the igloos, restaurant and pool area. There is generally a good GSM coverage at the hotel, including inside the Igloos.||The flat screen is too small to be of any use. The tv does not have any of the major English speaking international channels (like BBC or CNN). ||The swimming pool is great. It is large and kids friendly - Be aware that you will need to bring or buy a bathing cap (2.5 euro at the hotel) in order to use the pool. After 1200 it can be hard to find shade as there is an unexpected lack of sunshades (parasols) around the pool.||The Hotel has activities (work-out, piliattes, water Zumba etc.) in pool a few of times a day - depending on the guests. As it is accompanied by music it is a relatively (but passing) noisy activity. ||The breakfast is the typically sweet Italian breakfast. It is at the three star level and there is also the choice of fresh fruits. If you have your coffee with milk (cafe latte, cappuccino etc.) make sure to tell them that the milk has to be hot and not lurkewarm - during our stay they never really got it right.||We tried the hotel restaurant (see review) and was not disappointed. It presents a good alternative to driving somewhere else.||The tendency to play loud and noisy pop music in the pool and outdoor restaurant area is a shame, and when it happens makes the hotel resemble an Eastern European all-inclusive compound (not good). This hotel would benefit from playing (if any) lounge music or down-tempo jazz in both areas as this would fit the style of the outdoor and...
Read moreUPDATE - following my below review on my initial experience the manager sought me out to apologise and to resolve the issue regarding my room. |I was shown the bungalow and an alternative hotel room. The bungalow was cute and if I was travelling as a couple it probably would have been my preferred option. As a solo traveler the hotel room seemed more appealing. It was also very much appreciated to get a heartfelt apology. |An additional note regarding breakfast; if you are looking to avoid carbs (not easy in Italy anyway) then fruit and yogurt are really your options (they had a bowl of boiled eggs but that didnât appeal) I wouldnât want an English breakfast (I donât have those in England!) but it really was just rolls and pastries (which did look delicious)||My first night here was a disappointment. I was given a box room with a fold out bed (see pics) when I had actually booked a deluxe bungalow. I was told in a very nonchalant way that they were fully booked and there was plumbing issues with the bungalow. Itâs a beautiful place for a wedding and wouldnât begrudge anyone getting married but the music and party was very close to my room and very loud. |Dinner was challenging as I donât eat seafood so had limited options and as mentioned before; trying not to overload on carbs. The menu is heavily seafood based, which I assume is normal for the area, so ordered a salad and was given a bowl of chopped...

You are also charged for water which we thought was complementary . |The pool does require you to wear a swim cap which is âŹ2.5 and the life guard is a stickler for it!|The staff were very helpful and very friendly and the breakfast was really good with a great assortment of pastries, cakes and rolls. |All in all a beautiful hotel but wouldnât go again...
