We were here for four nights May 7th-11th 2016 and loved the quiet, relaxed, and aesthetically pleasing surroundings and atmosphere; we really felt completely 'away from it all' and yet the town of Martano only a couple of minutes away by car, and the marvellous coastline and its turquoise sea within half an hour's drive. Our spacious barn conversion appt had been sensitively renovated and provided a very relaxing temporary home. We loved the pool, and the day we made use of the bicycles (provided free) to gently meander the empty (and flat) lanes enjoying the vistas of olive groves, fields of red poppies and the sound of birdsong. We hardly saw a soul. Breakfast was a treat (included in the price) and taken outside apart from our last morning when the weather changed. Our bed linen and towels were changed after just two days and the room was serviced daily. Our host, Fabio, was truly wonderful. He went out of his way to welcome us, attend to our every need and even anticipated some we didn't realise we had (wonderful cocktails Fabio!) I realise that as the only guests during those four days Fabio had more time to spend with us than if the Masseria had been full, but his warmth and attention to detail really made for a memorable stay. He got the balance so right between attentive care and leaving guests to enjoy themselves. As there were no other guests at that time, Fabio showed us all the other rooms and they all seemed to the same high standard. Some, like ours, having a small kitchenette; all have their own sitting out area.||||We took a while to find the Masseria (out of Martano, follow signs for 'NATURALISTA' (it is just beyond, and to the left.) If we were being picky, improvements in our apartment would have been to have a DOUBLE bed rather than two singles pushed together and the interior wicker chairs/sofa were not very comfy, but I can't...
