La pecora Ladra — Hotel in Montalto di Castro

You could not find a better “bang for your buck” than La Pecora. The apartments are elegant while still being comfortable. The 1/2 bath in the loft was very welcome. Ours had double doors to a very large and private terrace which we loved. The kitchen is small but is ok for lighter meals. The pool area is a mind blower! It is more of a Caribbean size and shape than most places in Italy. The mosaic tile must have cost them a fortune. You could get drinks or lunches in the pool area. The only negative I will say and it is small one, they need to ditch the wooden knives & forks they use for the lunches as they break and it is next to impossible to eat with them. The overall resort was carefully designed with attention to detail. The place was almost empty while we were there in the beginning of Sept which was a little surprising even if it is not on the tourist track. Lots to see in the surrounding area for day trips. If you have an afternoon flight out of FCO or don’t want to drive a lot when you arrive it is perfect as it is an easy hour away from the airport. We only stayed 4 nights and wished we stayed longer. We just spent a great family week end in this top quality small resort, one hour driving north of the Rome FCO airport. Apartments are spacious, furnished with great quality stuff (including expresso machines and free wi-fi), awesome green surroundings and a fabulous swimming pool. The owner welcomed us very friendly and showed a great service oriented mindset (I like that). She was always around to ensure everything was taken care of. We also had two dinners and one lunch (you need to book your meals when you reserve your staying). The staff asked what we wanted to eat and everything was super fresh, delicious and well prepared. They use most of their farm products in a no non-sense kind of kitchen, but a (all local) seafood meal is definitely worth trying if you stay more than one day. We felt very relaxed and came back with a strong feeling of having been in the right place. Perhaps the only below-the-standard issue is the morning breakfast - which could be improved with more local stuff (jams, fresh fruit etc). Trattasi di resort, in forma di agriturismo con frutteto e prato, piscina, parcheggio privato ombreggiato, riservato. Il posto é veramente ben tenuto, curato nei dettagli, gli interni sono altrettanto curati, accettano animali di piccola taglia, cani e gatti, per lo più cani, al seguito.||Non ho trovato svantaggi particolari, la proprietaria e lo staff sono stati tutti molto attenti. Il verde é molto curato, praticamente una chiazza verde in mezzo alla siccità di quest'anno, pulizia, orto. Non fanno da mangiare, almeno non attualmente, prima, dalle foto, facevano anche ristorazione.||Gli appartamenti, alcuni sono su due livelli, living cucina e bagno principale con splendido patio al piano terra, camera da letto e piccolo bagno al piano di sopra. ||Mobili curati, arredamento in genere, pure curato. Alcune cose sono retrò, probabilmente sono dettagli voluti. ||Un po' scomodo fare le scale per andare a dormire, oppure se per caso ti dimentichi qualcosa al piano superiore. Non ci sono lavatrice, lavastoviglie e forno, solo microonde e un piccolo set di pentole e utensili, il minimo. ||C'é macchina da caffé con cialde, alcune fornite dalla struttura, poi logicamente le compri, ma sono presenti anche caffettiere, per cui uno può farsi un buon caffé in ogni caso.||Veniamo al fastidio principale, la gente. E' vero che personalmente odio moltissimo l'umanità attuale, perché maleducata e insulsa, ma di certo urlare contro dei ragazzini in un posto dove non c'é nulla per loro, se non la piscina, forse é stato eccessivo, soprattutto alle sette di mattina. I muri tra gli appartamenti sono sottili, si sente ogni cosa, anche se uno russa. Non é posto per bambini e men che meno per adolescenti, che non prenderei proprio in struttura, dato che a parte la piscina e un campetto da calcio abbozzato, purtroppo non hanno proprio sfogo. Ovviamente ciò non dipendente dai gestori, ma dai singoli e dalla loro educazione, oramai molto poca.||Sottolineo la pulizia degli ambienti e anche della piscina, sempre ben tenuta. Il giardino magnifico. Acqua non troppo buona, per cui anche se potabile, va comperata. Un giorno, di pomeriggio é uscita acqua salata dai rubinetti, per cui occorre fare scorta.||Al mattino la piscina é vivibile, poi arrivano i bambini scalmanati, per cui bisogna attendere il giorno dopo, nel patio purtroppo causa piante e irrigazione ci sono le zanzare, si sente il rumore del condizionatore, ma se si mette su deumidificatore, a tratti si spegne da solo, limitando il rumore, comunque c'é la funzione notte. Preferibili le stanze capotesta. Andate in bassa stagione, starete da Dio, evitate agosto, più caro e affollato. ||Al piano inferiore si sente meglio il raffrescamento, in cucina si soffoca a cucina, perché non c'é finestra, per cui arieggiate. ||Non hanno smart tv, per cui se uno per pioggia o volontà volesse netflix, impossible. ||WIFI funziona, ma ci sono interruzioni.|| E' un luogo dove ritornare e sicuramente lo faremo.
