We stayed here for three nights recently and enjoyed ourselves. ||||My husband, daughter and I had a suite. This was clean, comfortable, and spacious. ||Check-in was quite friendly but slightly chaotic for a hotel of this standard and price range. It did not feel 100% professional, rather chatty/hit and miss with some information being forgotten/glossed over. ||||As other reviewers have mentioned, the pool is amazing and really relaxing. We loved our time spent around it and the shady areas were appreciated. It was the best part of the hotel. At times, some guests had just left towels on the loungers so it wasn't always clear which ones were available - a pet hate of mine since I love to be in the shade. ||||My husband said the gym was a bit dated but ok. We didn't use the spa area. ||Generally, there are areas around which are now becoming slightly dated and in need of maintenance. Everything was ok for us but again with the level of the hotel and high prices, everything should be perfect. E.g. there were some broken floor tiles, corridor lights not working. ||||The restaurant was expensive but the service was attentive and we enjoyed the food. We received only ate once at the hotel for one evening given the high prices and enjoyed discovering additional places in the nearby towns. ||||The hotel did not feel covid-secure overall. Staff hurriedly pulled their masks up when we approached the reception desk and the manager (I think?) rode about the hotel on the scooter without a mask and walked through corridors without a mask. Mask wearing was not enforced in the restaurant though almost all guests wore them inside when collecting food from the buffet. ||||There were big bowls of chopped fruit with spoons and knives to cut break which any quest could use. I felt this was not so secure and felt uncomfortable with this. Other hotels we stayed at during our Tuscan holiday changed have bought dishes to the table to avoid exactly this risk. As other measures were not happening, I did not feel I would be taken seriously if would mention these...
Read moreThe resort is really beautiful. It is located in a pristine area of the Argentario and nearby Porto Santo Stefano and Orbetello, i.e. lovely beaches, restaurants and scenery. The room we got was lovely; modern furniture, clean, and with a spacious bathroom. The swimming pool area is lovely, quiet and truly relaxing (and there was hardly anybody there given that customers seemed to be all at the nearby beaches/ cities during our stay). Breakfast was excellent with a huge variety to choose from. The restaurant would deserve a review in itself - it is simply fantastic and I returned back after my stay at the hotel because I really loved it (and all the friends I brought there were positively impressed by it). Minor room for improvement: while all the staff are friendly and helpful (e.g. they went beyond themselves to help my friend finding a physiotherapist to handle her abrupt shoulder pain), there seem to be a flexible interpretation of what professional means. For example, the first impact with the reception was not the best, i.e. the man who "welcomed" us was not really professional and helpful, he did not give an overview on the facilities/ breakfast time/ and other info, and was rather rude - we had the impression that he might have been randomly filling in for the actual receptionist (who was then super-kind and more professional). Whatever the reason, this should not be happening at a resort which clearly aims at being high-end. Overall, I liked the place and I would recommend it for a long-weekend, especially for its restaurant and beautiful scenery! p.s. I would recommend having a car when you travel there especially if you want to visit the seaside and nearby towns, which are not at a...
Read moreI would like to start with asking who ever is reading this please do not be influenced by the so called “5/5” reviews as they are most likely family members and friends of the hotel owners and are not giving a true and honest opinion let alone even staying there.
We are have traveled across the world and stayed here.
If there was an option to go with 0/5 I will select this option for the following reasons:
Negatives: food was stale and mouldy, Dinner could only be served after 7:30pm. Staff were rude and not helpful Facilities not available as so called gym was not functional Bugs in the beds and we had to personally clean them and sleep in robes Construction of the hotel was extremely poor with paper thin walls as we could hear very clearly our neighbours concluding their honeymoon. Showers flood instantly as drainage does not work properly and water flooding from the bathroom into the bedroom. Do not attempt to even think about drinking or using the tea kettle in the room as I witnessed mould along the spout Cleaners do not clean properly Phone in the room was not operating or set up to contact room service. (we had to keep walking to the front reception when requesting anything) Extremely dark at night with an eerie feel to it. Trip hazards all over the complex as I myself tripped over multiple times My daughters burger bun was extremely stale and could not be eaten. Luckily the meat in the burger bun represented a formula 1 Pirelli Pzero racing tyre. Instantly sick after consuming.
Positives: we managed to get out of there alive. Gentlemen at front desk was very nice and should be promoted...
