We booked our stay through Vawidi Deluxe Lodge Nettuno Resort. You get the feeling you are going to a paradise of luxury and tranquility. However, you end up at Camping Isola Verde where the glamping is part of the campsite. There are 10 glamping tents, which look exactly like the ones in the photos. The tents are spaced far enough apart, they are nice and solid, so is the furniture. And the fact that you can have such a large bathroom with toilet in a tent is incredible. There is air conditioning in the tent, but don't expect miracles. It's still a tent, a lot of cold is lost through cracks and openings. And to be honest, it is very unfriendly to the environment, an air conditioner in a tent. With glamping we do not only expect a luxurious tent, but also a decent kitchen equipment. Unfortunately that was missing. Only the most necessary was present. We stayed with 5 guests in the tent (= the maximum). But you get exactly 5 glasses, 5 plates, 5 forks, etc. There are no bowls for example to scoop an ice cream. There is 1 wooden spoon, but there are no extra large spoons to scoop food from your pots. Also don't expect sharp knives, scissors or a garlic press, because none of that is present. The crazy thing is that there is a dishwasher, but of course you won't get it filled after one meal. So you are obliged to either wash by hand or run the dishwasher anyway, otherwise you will have no glasses or cutlery left for your next meal. The campground itself is small and still has a lot of growth potential. Don't compare it to the luxurious campsites in the North of Italy. Here it's all more basic. The pool is simple, but large and very clean. Disadvantage: only the chairs are free, but they are usually occupied. For a sunbed you pay 2 EUR, which adds up when you're with 5 people. It's sad to see 30 sunbeds unused, while you have to sit on your towel on the grass. But the rental of sun beds is normal in this region. You will not find a single beach or lake where you can just sit on the beach or on the grass. Every piece is in concession and you have to pay everywhere to rent a sunbed. Italians live later in the evening, so keep in mind there is a lot of music and noise at the campsite between 10pm and 12:30 to 1am. If you want to go to sleep early, this will bother you, I myself slept with earplugs. One of the animators liked to chitchat every 5 sec. into the microphone through the music. And although we were at the very end of the camp site, we could literally hear everything. That chatter was more disturbing than the music itself. And if we already heard him honking in our ears, then the volume could really lower for his audience. We were disappointed that there was hardly English (or French) spoken at the campground. At the reception there was usually someone who spoke English, but all the animation was in Italian and also at the bar or in the restaurant they didn't speak a single word English. We literally needed hands and feet to make ourselves understood. A major shortcoming for a campsite that seems to have international ambitions. Also the surroundings were a bit disappointing. On the Vawidi website you are dazzled by the beautiful area, with its many attractions. But when you leave the campground, after 200 m you encounter several streets with street prostit*tes (I blurred the word otherwise this review is blocked). The streets are full of garbage, they look like small dumps. Not a pleasant view. The nearest villages are Nettuno and Anzio. Quite cozy, but not very touristic, difficult to find parking and again: no English! For more tourist attractions you have to drive for 30 minutes or...
Read moreWe had an unforgettable stay at this campsite, which was tailored for a fantastic family camping holiday. The swimming pool was large, clean, and had various depths that made it ideal for our children. The amenities were complete including a well-stocked shop, restaurant, cafe, and a bar. The dog park and perimeter walk for on-lead dog walking were great for our furry family member.||The campsite was full of family-friendly activities, with daily pool side activities and with nightly entertainment including a theatre production, karaoke at the bar, a mini disco, and even a pool party. The play park was large and well-maintained, keeping the kids busy when not in the pool.||One of the standout features of our stay was the on-site farm. The farm owner was exceptionally accommodating, especially when our children expressed a desire to groom the ponies and tack them up for a short ride. She took the time to explain the animals’ names, their backstories, and how they came to live on the farm. Her warmth and enthusiasm really shone through. Even though some of the staff didn’t speak much English, their passion for the animals and their eagerness to connect with guests was evident.||The farm habitants included 3 ponies, many small goats, and Emu, 2 pigs and a variety of birds.||During our visit, we had to make a trip to the vet to get our dog’s travel documents signed, and the farm owner went out of her way to help us find the right vet, which was a huge relief.||The farm itself was exceptionally clean, and it was clear that the animals were loved and well-cared for. Our children had the best time interacting with the animals, and we all felt such a strong connection to the farm's atmosphere.||The shower blocks were always spotless, and there’s a laundry with two washing machines and one tumble dryer (€4 per wash - pay with card), which was super handy for our longer stay. Security was also excellent — staff and security personnel frequently patrolled the site on their carts, which gave us peace of mind knowing that everything was being looked after and our pitch was secure.||The staff throughout our stay were friendly, helpful, and went above and beyond to ensure our comfort. We initially booked 3 nights, but we were so well taken care of that we extended our stay by 4 more nights. When one of our family members couldn’t travel, the team happily accommodated us with an additional night at short notice.||The campsite was not overcrowded, which made our experience even more enjoyable. Most guests were staying in cozy cabins, while we brought our caravan from home (1,220 miles!), and we were one of just five caravans on-site. It was the perfect balance of space and tranquility.||We also noticed a variety of activities available locally, including sailing, a small beach, and a charming town nearby. We wish we'd had more time to explore these options during our stay. Additionally, we made the most of the site's location and did two fantastic day trips — one to Rome (just an hour's drive away), and another to Pompeii (3 hours’ drive, but totally worth it for the history and the experience).||We truly felt welcomed and accepted throughout our stay, and it’s safe to say we would consider returning in the future. This campsite offers a little bit of everything — fantastic amenities, great staff (many of which spoke good English), a friendly atmosphere, and loads of activities for the...
Read more2-3 hours after I checked out last July 5, I texted them saying I had left 2 objects in the room. I didn’t receive a reply until the next day when they said they had it and I could get it back without any problems. They did not mention any deadline to retrieve objects at lost and found as you can see in the conversation. On July 29, hours before arriving there, I texted them saying that I will be coming at noon to get my stuff. As soon as I arrived, the immediate response I got from a woman at reception was that it was no longer there- without asking or checking- unapologetic-I showed her the text I got from them and there was no indication of when I could no longer get my things. To make matters worse, she started blaming me saying “you should have done this, you should have you should have”. It’s called gaslighting the client because they don’t want to be held accountable. If you insult me first by blaming me and are rude and disrespectful by not listening, I assert myself and my rights. You cannot bully me. In the end, after 30min wasted, plus an hour drive from Rome, I did not get my things back. They even said that it happened a month ago, and I had to remind them that today was still July and hasn’t been a month since July5. July 5-July 29, non è un mese fa. So, in short they threw away or took my things, blamed and disrespected me plus lied about an inexistent lost and found policy. ||At the very least, and again- there were no apologies but blame. |it was clearly a mistake to have gone there. ||I believe Italian law states that if a customer loses an object inside your hotel or B&B, you cannot throw it away or get rid of it unless at least ninety days have passed since the customer has left your facility. Regardless, I came back less than 30 days. Don’t put someone at reception that doesn’t know how to respectfully listen, help, and knows better than to blame clients for...
