Hotel Residence Villa Dei Carpini — Hotel in Oderzo

I have stayed at this property for 6 years. It’s a beautiful and traditional Italian hotel. Nothing fancy but clean and well kept. The staff is friendly and welcoming. However, if you plan to stay here during the hot summer months, I would suggest you choose another property. ||Why? The air conditioning is individually controlled for each room by reception. You do have a gauge in your room but it does nothing. You have absolutely no control of your room temperature or fan control. For example, yesterday I arrived from work at 6:30pm to find my room temperature @ 29 degrees. Of course, I went downstairs to request air conditioning. Okay no problem. I showered and then headed out for dinner. When I returned, my air conditioning was once again off and room temperature was 27 degrees. Once again, I went downstairs to ask. Okay no problem . At 4:00am I woke up to room temperature at 26 degrees with an air conditioner that was turned off by reception. Prior to this booking there was a request to reception to manage the room temperature at 22 degrees while guest was in the room. This has been a problem during previous stays. A very good well run hotel set in a large garden with an excellent swimming pool. Cycle hire and wi-fi were both included. A good Italian breakfast. A very large car park so no parking problems. Bedrooms very clean, tidy and of good size. Most of the rooms has balconies overlooking the gardens supplied with chairs and coffee tables. A great place for a quiet holiday to read, relax and swim. There was good walking, on the level, by the side of the local river just over the road from the hotel.||Oderzo is a small but beautiful town a 30 min. walk with again small but good restaurants. We stayed a week and it should have been longer.||A car is not essential but is recommended, remember the 30 min. walk to town. L'hôtel est situé dans une zone plutôt résidentielle en périphérie de la ville, sans charme particulier mais calme. Oderzo est parfaitement situé pour rayonner sur tout l'Est de la Vénétie et l'Ouest du Frioul. L'hôtel comprend plusieurs bâtiments, dont un semble abriter des appartements, répartis dans un grand parc agréable. La décoration est dans le style des hôtels italiens du siècle dernier, meubles rustiques ou copies d'ancien. Certains endroits sont un peu vieillots mais l'entretien est très bon.||La piscine offre de nombreuses chaises longues et elle est de longueur suffisante. Prévoir un produit anti-moustiques, comme souvent dans la région.||Notre chambre était spacieuse, d'allure un peu ancienne mais très correctement entretenue. La climatisation est centralisée mais fonctionne bien; l'unique panne a été réglée très vite par le gérant, dans notre cas. Le mobilier simple comportait une table et une chaise. La literie était correcte, un peu ferme peut-être. La salle de bains suffisamment grande n'était pas flambant neuve, mais assez récemment rénovée, avec une douche de baignoire. L'isolation sonore intérieure était correcte mais pas exceptionnelle.||Le petit-déjeuner est servi dans une vaste salle lumineuse aux tables espacées. Il y a quelques tables en terrasse, plus ou moins bien abritées du soleil. Le sucré et le salé sont de qualité et variété honorables.||Le gérant, bon francophone, est aimable et plein d'humour. Il démêle toutes les difficultés et conseille les bons restaurants voisins, qui sont accessibles à pied depuis l'hôtel. Il propose également des vélos. Bref l'accueil est efficace.||Au total une bonne adresse car le prix est tout à fait raisonnable...
