Annalisa and Roberto have shaped a huge, old house into a marvellous boutique hotel offering 14 rooms and a fantastic restaurant.||She received us in a very friendly and welcoming way and was always available with good advice.||We had a nice, large, airconditioned room with a very comfortable bed. The bathroom was large and well-equiped. A definite plus was the large balcony with sunbeds. I believe our room was the only one with such a balcony.||Thé trump of this B&B is undoubtedly the restaurant. Roberto appeared to be an excellent cook and managed to surprise us with his culinary creations. As a consequence, we ate four times during our five night stay in the hotel. The four course discovery fish menu with adapted wines was a truly divine experience. As antipasto we got the sublime gamberoni al Gran Marnier zu zuppetta di lime e salvia. OMG, what a plate! As primo we got served the paccheri al ragù di vongole cuore cicale di mare e pesce spada. Once again, spot on. The main course was a fantastic branzino with mediterranean flavours. Also the dessert was a real treat. This was definitly one of the best meals I ever got in an Italian B&B! And it did’t end here: each dinner was terminated with a little music concert by the owners, with Annalisa on the harp and Roberto at the piano. It appeared they both had a professional music career before they started this hotel and restaurant. We will never forget their ‘Forbidden Colours’ interpretation of Ryuitchi Sakamoto. Pure nostalgia. Please check out the dates at which you plan your visit, since the restaurant is only open from Thursday until Sunday.||The hotel is perfectly located: only 12km away from the nice city of Udine, in the middle of the lovely Friuli region and Trieste and the seaside are within reach for a daytrip. Plenty of parking available.||Conclusion: this is a perfect hotel for your stay in the Friuli region and Annalisa and Roberto are your...

Owners Annaliesa and Roberto are some of the most welcoming hosts we met on this trip. Having an aperitivo in the courtyard is a must and then get ready for an amazing dinner ! Chef Roberto dreams about food (according to A) and certainly came up with interesting and fresh ideas! We stayed on a second night since we enjoyed the food so much. Highly recommend the tasting menu with accompanying local wines - on second night took the chef surprise selection - great to not knowing what s next! I loved the gnocci with lavender - never knew lavender is edible. If you re lucky and Team A&R are not too tired they will play a piano and harp mini concerto (both were pro musicians in their younger years). Again thanks for a couple of amazing evenings of food, wine and music. Will definitely be back again one day!
BTW Cividale del Friuli is 20 minutes away and was a...
