We’ve been to the property of Murlo twice. First time we stayed at Villa Monticelli for a family vacation (most of it was great) had to call a few times regarding an ant infestation in one of the rooms. Now last week. We hosted our family & wedding at Castiglione Ugolino, from the first day there were issues with the stay. We then hosted our rehearsal dinner with 18 of our guests and I had set up and requested a reservation 3 months in advance (not with a confirmed guest count) they assumed we were bringing 36 people not confirming our count with us although I notified them it would probably be half of the amount of people. Day comes they don’t have the reservation for us so we had to make one, when we arrive they tell us we’re paying for 28 people…. They harassed us the entire dinner about this they now had us all extremely upset/angry. The servers threw the plates down on the table giving attitude when asked a question and were extremely rude (this was at il Caldero). They said at the restaurant not to worry about it but then it got charged on our final bill. (Extremely shady and uncalled for).
Murlo will absolutely penny pinch you for every single euro possible, they claimed we took bottles of rose that we didn’t take, and fought us on everything. They ruined the experience completely, when I brought up the issues simply as charging for firewood when we paid 34,000€ to stay there for 5 nights it’s extremely embarrassing to charge 15€ for wood…. They had no heat working inside the villa the entire time so we needed the wood to heat up the villa for the night time.
Pool was freezing (don’t worry they were going to charge us for this too).
If you’re thinking to stay here add on at least another few thousand euros to your budget for their extremely outrageous charges.
It’s truly a shame because the property is gorgeous. We will not be returning unless they try to do something to turn around the experience with them which is unlikely as Erika’s email to me was copy and paste of excuses. They really tainted the week of our wedding with all of this.

Read moreWe had the privilege of celebrating our intimate wedding at Tenuta di Murlo, with just six of our closest loved ones, and it truly exceeded every dream we could have imagined. We stayed in the magnificent Villa Penna, which was not only breathtaking in its design and setting but also impeccably maintained down to the finest detail.
What sets Tenuta di Murlo apart is not only the beauty of the estate, but the extraordinary team who made every aspect seamless. They arranged everything for us with the care and precision of a world-class wedding planner: hair and makeup, photographer, videographer, officiant, violinist, florals, aperitif, a chef-catered dinner in the villa, as well as transportation from the airport and train stations and even a rental car. Each vendor they recommended was exceptional, and together they created an unforgettable celebration.
When a last-minute change of our ceremony date was required, the Tenuta di Murlo team handled the adjustment with such grace and professionalism. What could have been stressful, was instead effortless. Their ability to coordinate every detail so smoothly allowed us to remain fully present and savor every moment.
The entire experience felt like a dream—elegant, personal, and absolutely perfect. It is rare to find an intimate venue that combines such stunning surroundings with flawless service. Tenuta di Murlo is not just a destination; it is a place where memories are created for a lifetime.
We recommend Tenuta di Murlo with the highest regard and deepest gratitude. It is not only a spectacular estate, but a team of people who make magic happen. We look forward to returning and reliving the joy they created for us.

Read moreWhat a beautiful place, first and foremost. We stayed in the perfect, private villa Molinella. When I recall memories from this trip, I distinctly, almost viscerally, remember the feeling of tranquility and peace that embraced me here. Very, very few places in my life can I say (or even remember) have inspired similar feelings of harmony. ||Villa: Spacious, well-priced, and exceedingly private. It took a while to get there from the meeting point/entrance, but it did ensure that we would not be disturbed whatsoever while there. The rooms were absolutely dreamy, the furniture high quality and in excellent condition, and everything worked/ operated as it should. They also provided us with pots/pans/utensils for cooking, and there wasn't a single thing we needed that wasn't already provided. They delivered our morning breakfast each day, fresh from their farm, I wish I could stay there forever. It was our own little hamlet. ||Pool/ private underground grotto: The pool was quite cold, even in 95+ degree weather, but this was a very minor issue. It was very clean and beautiful to swim in. The underground grotto/jacuzzi was without a doubt the coolest thing we've seen in any sort of home/villa. It was such a memorable experience, taking our first steps down and into the water, and then turning on the built-in jets, we spent hours there! ||Restaurant: We ate there only twice, but it felt so intimate and lovely. Tables were set up outside on the grass ( I think you could also eat inside if you preferred). The food was excellent, and there was ample space between our table and the next for privacy. They set up all the tables in...
