We recently had a very pleasant three-night stay at Villa Bellavista in Pescara. The house is tastefully furnished, and comfortable, with a wonderful view of Pescara and the sea. We spent plenty of time in lounge chairs on the front lawn. We were two couples and stayed in rooms 5 and 6 with a shared bath. One room had a foam cushion on a queen bed (very comfy) and a view of the sea. The other was little bigger, but without the view, with twin beds and a closet (the other room didn’t have a closet). Giuseppe and his wife were gracious hosts. They will speak to you as little or as much as you want. There was plenty to choose from for breakfast (although not that fresh, and bland coffee). We also had a bottle of wine and a couple of us had lunch for an extra charge (a little expensive). ||||Some things to keep in mind: You really need a car to stay here. You don’t need to pay for parking “inside the gate” and actually it’s inconvenient because there is only one driveway which can require some car juggling. There are three dogs…two big ones that hang by the driveway and you hardly see, a little one that likes to hang around, and at...

Read moreThis is not a hotel! It is in the middle of nowhere, and hard to find as there is no sign to indicate the location. It is a large private house, run by an elderly gentleman and, apparently, his wife. If you are afraid of dogs, this is not a place for you- you will be greeted by a huge black dog, (which is hopefully trained and obedient), but even as a dog lover I would not want to find myself in its presence without the owner nearby. There is a nice but unkept front yard, and a wonderful veiw from the back rooms. You will wake in the middle of the night to the eerie sounds of several dogs howling, and in the early morning, to the chatter and household noises in front of your room door. There is no parking outside, you park on the grass along the road, if there is any space available. I found none, and had to put the car in the front yard, for which I was charged extra. ||All in all, an adventure, a different place, very...
