We had a lovely time in Il Cipresso, relaxing in the apartment and driving to local towns to explore. Volterra and San Gimignano are not far and we also visited a beautiful sandy beach in San Vincenzo which was just over an hours drive. For those with families (we had a 2 year old with us) there is a huge toddler friendly playground in the local town of Pomerance which is shady and has plenty to keep them entertained. It also has a local supermarket which stocks everything you need to self cater. No one locally spoke much English but it wasn't really a problem. Sergio hosted a pizza night on our final night where we met some of the other guests and could relax by our apartment. This was our first trip to Tuscany and so we did not know what to expect. From the moment we got to San Tommaso 1km outside from Pomerance we knew we made the right choice. We were warmly received even though we arrived very late. Sergio and his wife were always super friendly. The view from the Terrace is breathtaking with grapes growing right there for us to pick and the 2 bedroom apartment with beautiful kitchen were clean, pretty and nicely furnished. ||The pool is bigger than we first thought from the pictures and prettier, even.||The highlight was that Sergio, his wife and a friend had a party for the guests which apparently they do every week in the main season. I have just a few words for the location and for the owner.
Location is as good as it can be, forget about cities and touristic places because this is as good as it can be. You have AC ,fridge, a little kitchen, laundry room, a big room, you own barbecue place and your own place on the terrace where you can eat everything you bring. (bring a lot of food because the view from the terrace will grow your appetite).
Sergio is a true Italian guest and will help you with every needs you have.
You will have a nice pool also, but the view is everything you need.
