Relais Poggio Al Vento — Hotel in Pomarance

We had the most wonderful stay at Poggio Al Vento! The apartment was quite spacious, the bed was very comfortable, and the setting was just perfect! There are beautiful views from nearly every angle on the site, and the location is off a small road which isn’t very busy. There is good noise isolation between the apartments, with double-glazed windows, and guests have access to a shared washing machine which is free to use. The 3-tier swimming pool was perfectly refreshing after our daily adventures travelling about, and having those three pool terraces gave a bit more privacy. The lady who runs this place is friendly and very accomodating, and happily put up with my broken Italian, switching to English when it was easier! We booked this place very last minute after an awful first night at our previous accommodation around the corner from here, and we are SO glad we moved...

Stunning location, beautiful pool and clean apartment - BUT||||The big disappointment was the owners 6 dogs who are locked in kennel on site all night and bark, whine and howl ALL NIGHT. At 5.30am every morning they ALL then howl continuously for over an hour. ||In the day some of them roam free but then poo by the pool, bark, beg and scrounge when you are eating and one even came into our apartment and stole one our babies toys. ||There is also a local fitness class for one hour twice a day, very loud and just outside our apartment so woke our baby several times and was really not what we wanted to hear on this type of holiday.
