Hotel Mair — Hotel in Pustertal - Val Pusteria

My wife and I booked 5 nights at Hotel Mair. The hotel room was fine as was the food. The hotel is in Kematen about 2 kilometers from Sand in Taufers and is in a very quiet and beautiful area. The young hotelier who also waited on us at dinner was very friendly and polite. Unfortunately, the woman serving coffee for breakfast was quite the opposite. I keep a kefir, a kind of mushroom that changes the consistency of milk which when drunk is good for the digestive tract. I drink the milk for breakfast and give the kefir new milk for the coming day. I keep the kefir in a jar and when in hotels take the jar up to my room after breakfast.The amount of mild is about half a glass. The waitress was waiting for me to leave and accused me of taking food up to my room. She was so loud that everyone could hear what she was saying. I tried to explain to her that this was part of my breakfast and that I wasn ´t taking any food for hiking etc. And then she mentioned that we had booked via an agency and that we were paying less than the others. I replied that what she got from the agency was her problem and that we were paying not much less than the normal price. In the evening I talked with the hotelier about the waitress who was most probaably a relative and explained to him about the kefir. I also mentioned that I expected an anpology from the waitress. Das Hotel Mair ist ein kleines familiengeführtes Hotel im kleinen Ort Kematen, welches zur Gemeinde Sand in Taufers gehört. Es befindet sich am Ortsende von Kematen in idyllisch ruhiger Lage und je nach Zimmerlage hat man Blick auf Wiesen und Wald, oder einen imposanten Ausblick Richtung Mühlwaldertal und die dazugehörigen Bergspitzen.||Das Hotel ist ruhig gelegen, verfügt über eigene Parkplätze und wurde vor kurzem erst Teilrenoviert. Ein neuer Zimmertrakt kam hinzu, andere Zimmer wurde ganz bzw. teilrenoviert und der Speiseraum wurde neu angelegt. Das Hotel macht einen super gemütlichen familiären Eindruck und ist wie gesagt frisch renoviert. Einzig die Bar mit den dortigen Sitzgelegenheiten befindet sich noch im Urzustand, jedoch bei den Räumlichkeiten wäre es eine Sünde diese zu verändern.||||Die Lage: Das Hotel liegt am äusseren Rand von Kematen eine kleine Fraktion der Gemeine Sand in Taufers. Das Hotel liegt ruhig auf einer kleinen Anhöhe und ist ein Idealer als Ausgangspunkt für Wanderungen. Egal ob Richtung Ahrntal, oder eines der anderen schönen Seitentäler des Pustertales, die Lage von Kematen und des Hotels ist ideal. Falls es mal regnen sollte bieten Sand in Taufers eine Abwechslung und könnte sogar fußläufig erreicht werden. Für Bummeln oder mehr Action bietet die nahe Stadt Bruneck genügend Abwechslung.||||Die Zimmer: Neu, schön und geschmacksvoll eingerichtet. Der Holzboden ist etwas für Allergiker und vor allem die Sauberkeit in den Zimmern, aber auch in allen anderen Bereichen des Hotels ist vorbildlich. Gerade in diesen Zeiten ist dies für alle wichtig.||Ebenso gefällt mir sehr die Farbauswahl in den Zimmern (warme Holz und Brauntöne) sowie das Bad, mit den dunklen Schieferfliesen. Weiter zu betonen, dass im Bad endlich mal ausreichend Licht vorhanden ist. Leider wird dies oftmals vernachlässigt, aufgrund des Designs. Die Zimmer verfügen über einen großen Balkon mit Balkonmöbeln. Entgegen anderen Bewertungen hatte ich sehr wohl eine kleine Minibar im Zimmer (siehe Fotos).||Die Matratzen sind neu und von hervorragender Qualität. Der Schlafkomfort war ausgezeichnet und ich konnte entspannen.||||Service und Angebot: Es handelt sich um ein familiengeführtes Hotel. Den Hotelchef Herrn M. Matthias findet man somit in allen Bereichen des Hotels. Mal ganz abgesehen, dass er ein hervorragender Koch ist, findet man ihn auch in der Rezeption und an der Bar wieder und ist immer für ein nettes Gespräch bereit.||||Gastronomie: Das Frühstückangebot ist sehr gut und reichlich. Täglich verschiedene Brotteilchen und Brote, Vollkorn oder Semmeln, ganz wie man möchte. Ich konnte morgens immer mind. 5 verschiedene Wurstsorten zählen und der dort angebotene Südtiroler Speck ist ein kulinarisches Träumchen Natürlich gibt es auch verschiedene Käsesorten, 3 verschiedene Joghurtsorten, verschiedene Müslis und Körner (Leinsamen, Sonnenblumen, Kürbiskerne usw.), aber eine leckere Marmeladenauswahl (selbstgemacht?), Obstsalat, aber auch frisches Obst wie Trauben, Melone, Wassermelone, Ananas. Der in Keramikkännchen servierte Kaffee war sehr gut.||Abendessen wird geboten. Das Tagesmenü wird immer an der Rezeption aufgeschlagen und bietet immer eine Alternative zur Auswahl.
