Agriturismo Il Bettarello — Hotel in Roccastrada

Our friend in Maremma organised for our family to stay here for the weekend. We had a look on the internet before arriving to see what it was like and our first impression was that it was nice but nothing special. How wrong were we! This is a special place most of all because of the wonderful people who own it and who make you feel like home. Nothing was too much trouble, the Signora Tecla will make you a lovely panino whenever you like, she will do you eggs for breakfast whatever way you like, she can give you advice on where to go and whats on. Her daughter Tania is so so efficient but yet so laid back. ||||We had a little appartment being 2 adults and 3 kids. We had a double room for us and a separate room for the kids with 3 beds. Two bathrooms and a kitchen which honestly we didnt use being there only for the weekend. The room was very clean and had loads of towels which I love. ||||The Agriturismo is made up of 3 differents buildings, they have a lovely swimmimg pool, mini soccer pitch for the kids and swings and slides for little kiddies. They also organise cooking courses ( when we were leaving a big group of Belgians arrived) and one important point for animal lovers is that they accept animals. ||||So overall this place was a big positive surprise. Its not the fanciest of Agriturismi but it makes up for it with their hospitality and home...

Rustikal geht es tatsächlich her und wunderbar italienisch. Auf Empfehlung eines netten Agriturismo-Betreibers, der seine Location schon eingewintert hatte, landeten wir bei Familie Bruchi in einem Doppelzimmer für 60 Euro die Nacht mit Bad. Im Flur stand ein sauberer Kühlschrank, in den wir etwaige zu kühlende Lebensmittel hätten einbringen dürfen, wie Luca erklärte. Auf Nachfrage erfuhren wir, dass es auch etwas zu essen gäbe - nach längerer Unterkunftssuche in der Nachsaison hatten wir keine Lust mehr, im Dunkeln zum Essen irgendwohin zu fahren. Wir sollten uns gegen 20 Uhr einfinden. Im Speisesaal saß schon ein interessant gemischtes Publikum, weitere Gäste gesellten sich in den nächsten Minuten dazu. Lucas Mutter kochte. Wir bekamen Weiß- oder Rotwein nach Wahl, wenn eine Karaffe geleert war, auch eine zweite. Als Vorspeise Crostini della casa, dann herrliche Pici con porcini, Nudeln mit selbstgesammelten Steinpilzen, wer wollte, bekam Nachschlag. Der Hauptgang war nicht ganz so bestechend: "Pollo con sformato di verdure" - Gefügel mit Gemüseauflauf. Es gab auch ein Dessert, an das ich mich nicht erinnere :). Es war ein lustiger, lauter, schöner Abend, wer hier übernachtet, sollte sich diese Erfahrung nicht entgehen lassen. Das Zimmer war sehr hellhörig, man konnte die Nachbarn husten hören. Beliebtes Ziel für Motorradfahrer, vor allem Enduros. Hat Charme. Haus- und hofgemachte Produkte können vor Ort erworben werden, darunter Weiß- und Rotwein und normalerweise Olivenöl, doch 2014 ist die Olivenernte laut Luca so schlecht ausgefallen wie seit 60 Jahren nicht, sie können kein Olivenöl anbieten, was einen herben finanzielle Verlust darstellt. - Noch die Übersetzung: "Siamo rustici!" heißt: "Wir...
