The property is located a few kilometres from the sea, it covers an extensive area and it is composed by several different building, a couple of "traditional" style, the others in the minimalist style of the reception. On the grounds of the structure there are games for children and a sitting area in the shade of the trees for spending time outdoors. From what I have seen, each accommodation also offers a private gazebo for each room. The swimming pool is large and well maintained, there are enough sunbeds both in the area adjacent to the pool and on the lawn, shaded by some large trees. The staff is professional and very friendly, offering an impeccable service. The car parks are covered by a canopy which is absolutely essential in the summer. The reception is the main building at the entrance and there you also find the honesty bar and some breakfast tables. Other tables are available outside in the shade.||I really appreciated that this hotel is dog friendly and our holiday was very pleasant. The only negative point is that I was expecting a more modern accommodation, but our room was in the "traditional" style, with the bed and lamps in wrought iron and ceiling with exposed beams in dark wood which made the room look dark and cramped. Besides, the space was not used to the fullest. For example, the accommodation is for two, maximum three people but there is a table for 4, which could be replaced by a round or smaller table, the microwave is placed on a shelf near the bed, in a tricky position and on the hung a large clock connected to an electric cable. Not only was it incongruous as a decoration, it didn't even work. The space would look lighter and bigger without the chunky table and clock. Then again, this is my personal taste and it did not detract from the very pleasant holiday, in this...
Read moreWe had a truly memorable stay at Antico Podere San Francesco. The property offers a perfect blend of relaxation, nature, and thoughtful amenities, making it an ideal spot for families, couples, or anyone looking to unwind in the Tuscan countryside.||||The space is generous and beautifully maintained — a peaceful setting surrounded by olive trees and vineyards, with plenty of room to explore or simply relax. The apartments are spacious, clean, and well-equipped, offering a comfortable base for day trips or lazy afternoons by the pool.||||One of the biggest advantages is how child-friendly the property is. There’s a lovely playground, safe open spaces for kids to run around, and the pool area is great for families. The staff clearly understand what families need and make everyone feel very welcome.||||An unexpected moment during our stay was encountering a snake on the grounds and in our appartement — a rare event and certainly surprising. It reminded us we were in the heart of nature.||||Overall, Antico Podere San Francesco offers a peaceful, family-friendly retreat with attentive staff, beautiful surroundings, and all the charm of the Tuscan countryside. Highly recommended for those looking to disconnect and enjoy a...
Read moreWe stayed for 3 nights and, while the surroundings and overall atmosphere were lovely and relaxing for a short family break with our 4-year-old daughter, there were several aspects that left us disappointed.||We initially booked a deluxe suite, but were surprised to find it only accommodates two people. Since there were three of us, we had no choice but to upgrade to a larger room at an additional cost of €88 per night. On top of that, we were charged a €45 cleaning fee due to the room upgrade — and yet, our apartment was not cleaned once during our stay.||Another unexpected cost was breakfast, which was not included in the upgraded package. We were charged €40 per day for the three of us. What made it more frustrating was being quoted three different prices before ultimately being charged the highest amount with no flexibility or explanation. For what we paid overall, we found this excessive and disappointing.||While we did enjoy our time as a family and appreciated the peaceful setting, the accumulation of unexpected charges left a bitter taste and unfortunately means we wouldn’t return. €88 a day upgrade charge really should include breakfast adding and extra €120 to our stay for breakfast...
