Red Fenice — Hotel in San Donà di Piave

I was in San Dona on a business trip and this was one of the accommodations I chose for the location out side the main town but not too far a 20 min bike ride or 1 hours walk if you chose to do it. Excellent, comfortable and homely was our hostess Daniella, My room was a double with all the things i would need for my stay, wardrobe, Bed, Coat hangers a TV ETC. A good nights sleep was all I wanted after a long day in town. As breakfast was included, We were able to prepare our own meals in the evening to enjoy AL fresco style in the nice outdoor area towards the rear of the Villa. However, it became unbearable after 7 pm due to the mosquitoes which were relentless so I would advise plenty of bug spray! All in all I was very happy with the accommodation offered for the price and Daniella made me feel quite at home. I would highly recommend the restraint just a few doors down the road from the Villa, delicious home cooked Italian dishes for a very reasonable price. I would highly recommend eating there, local buses stop just out side and the main town isn't too far on a bike. But you'll probably benefit from a hire car if you plan to do more exploring. Fenice looks like a Toscanian house in Veneto. Is old, but very well reconstructed. High ceilings and lots of old wood. A quiet place just outside San Dona di Piave; a nice North-Italian city. Worth a visit. But more important: SDdP has a railroadstation. Trains bring you in 50 minutes in Venice. From the b&b it is 20 minutes by car to Eraclea Mare or Caorle; both with great sandy beaches. |Fernice is wonderfull. Nice and kind hostess. Clean, big rooms with airco (you will need it!), chairs, table, tv, chaise, bathroom with room for two. |Breakfast is Italian: Some bread, jams, lots of coffee and maybe 1kg sweets cookies! ||Nearby you will find Trattoria Ramon; an excellent place to eat and drink white wine. Sono andato in questo B&B con un mio amico ad Agosto di quest'anno... ||Abbiamo scelto apposta questo B&B perché è stata una cosa decisa un pò all'ultimo quella di fare un week-end ad Eraclea mare... che naturalmente gli Hotel o B&B di Eraclea erano già pieni... oltretutto con prezzi sicuramente più alti (visto che eravamo ad Agosto)||Penso che debba farsi un pò più di pubblicità sul Web perché non ha un suo sito e l'ho trovato cercando su Internet un pò a casaccio...||Ma forse è una sua scelta perché non credo abbia molte camere...||Devo dire che dall'esterno... mi lasciava un pò perplesso.... perché l'insegna non è molto grande (come vedete in foto) magari un cartello che sia più visibile dalla strada oppure un'insegna più vistosa sarebbe preferibile... infatti quando siamo passati ci è sfuggito e siamo dovuti tornare indietro (per fortuna ora c'è il navigatore)||Però devo dire che sono rimasto un pò stupito... perché non mi aspettavo un B&B così rustico ...||Ho soggiornato solo una notte e la cameretta (come vedete in foto) era piccola ma carina...||La padrona di casa che ci ha accolto era molto gentile e simpatica...||Abbiamo fatto la colazione (la sala non è molto grande) e ho fatto una foto di quello che avevamo di fronte... come vedete... molto originale... sopratutto le pentole appese al soffitto, è un'immagine scenografica diversa dal solito cliché...||Io sono più per le cose moderne ma devo dire che non mi è dispiaciuto fare colazione in questa sala-cucina così rustica...||Forse... l'unica pecca... è che quando sono andato per pagare... non ha accettato il bancomat perché la signora mi ha detto che non si sono ancora attrezzati... questa è una cosa che mi ha lasciato un pò spiazzato, perché non l'avevo previsto.. dato che ormai credo il 90% degli alberghi, Motel o B&B ha il POS... Per fortuna quando viaggio ho anche un pò di contanti... ma se avessimo dovuto soggiornare per più notti... uno di noi due... sarebbe dovuto andare in paese per prelevare!!||A parte questo piccolo inconveniente... devo dire che ci siamo trovati bene... quindi dato che dista solo 15 minuti di auto da Eraclea mare... lo consiglio per chi non dovesse trovare posto direttamente in loco e forse ci...
