Upon our first visit to view this accommodation it seems like a lovely home away from home in the countryside.....do not be fooled. The accommodation is lovely and clean until the daughter of the owner decides to dump rubbish in your bedroom and leave it there to rot in the searing 40c heat. The attitude of this family was unbelievably disgusting, they were rude, abnoxious and complete and utter liars.||||On the day of my wedding my family were told to put rubbish in the bins at the top of the road outside the accommodation. All of our rubbish had been bagged and put aside as the bins on the grounds were full and had not been emptied. Now given the fact that everyone was rushing around to get ready and be at the chapel on time no one had a chance to put the rubbish where they requested. When they returned after the dinner they found that the rubbish including that of other guests had been dumped on the floor in one of the bedrooms, this included chicken, rice, vegetables, all kind of rubbish on what was the hottest day of the year so far so you can imagine the stench. From this point my family decided they would no longer be staying here. The next day I had to check out from one of the rooms and I asked the daughter why there was rubbish on the floor and explained to her that they didn't have time to put this out given I was getting married. Her response - that's your problem not mine! Now any other normal human being would have disposed of the rubbish in the normal manner and spoken with the guests to explain where it should go - who the hell dumps rubbish in your bedroom???||||I was then messed around and lied to about the whereabouts of my passport. When my family advised they would not stay the remainder of e trip she demanded the full payment even though there is nothing on their website or confirmation of stay that states you need to pay the full balance if you cancel. The police were involved and as we are not locals we had to pay for the days that we would have been there. As a result we agreed that we would keep the accommodation and requested it be cleaned. Needless to say my family didnt want to stay there until it was all cleaned, we stayed at another hotel and who should come up there for dinner to check on us?? The owners of this bed and breakfast!!||||My family went back then next day to collect the remainder of their things only to be told that they have no recollection of who they were!! Can you imagine paying thousands of ££s for accommodation to be told "we don't know who you are" not only that they had already given the rooms away to someone else!! ||||In between all this they made up some lies about losing our car keys, they damaged our rental car and then on top of that the woman who owns the B&B appeared at my hotel screaming at me in front of all my wedding guests that she would have me arrested as my family had broken things....yet again another lie.||||This family and my decisions to book this awful accommodation completely ruined what should have been the best experience of my life. I profusely advise against staying at this accommodation unless you are a local as the way they treat foreigners is completely and utterly disgusting.||||On top of that the location of the accommodation is terrible, very hard to find, roads are too small and they have dogs who...
Read moreMy mother and I returned to San Donato to explore our family history and to find remaining living relatives. I came across Il Brucco online and decided to book 4 days at this lovely bed and breakfast. No words can possibly describe the beauty we experienced during our stay here. Maria and her daughter Allesandra are the most charming people we have ever met and they constantly showered us with food and other gifts. The apartment was IMMACULATE and well equipped with everything we needed. I've traveled extensively throughout the world and this residence was by far the most wonderful place I have had the privilege of staying in. The view out of every window, 360 degrees, was spectacular. The grounds have beautifully maintained gardens and it was peaceful with a graceful ambiance. I will ALWAYS recommend this B&B to everyone who travels to San Donato or for that matter, anywhere in the mountains of southern Italy. When I return, it will be for a month or more! Thank you so much Maria and to your family for the unforgettable time spent at...
Read moreWe arrived at Il Bruco B&B late september. Fortunately the beautiful and big swimming pool overlooking the valley was still open ( many swimming pools in the area close in september). So we took a swim in those wonderful transparent waters. Our apartment had a perfectly equipped kitchenette and a living room, a room and a bathroom. The furniture was absolutely enchanting the old country style you really expect to find in such a place. The owner Maria and her daughter Alessandra were always available for a chat or to give us suggestions on the many things to do in the area. Finally let me tell you about the breakfast. First I think it's great because it was brought to our room so you can have breakfast whenever you wish. We had our own coffee machine and juices and goodies and cakes and much more than we could have ever eaten. We stayed for 5 days but it could have been much more. I am sure we will be back soon! Thank you Maria...
