Monaco Sport Hotel Ristorante “La Žìria” — Hotel in Santo Stefano di Cadore

I agree with the previous review regarding the quality/service provided by this hotel and similar hotels in Austria - there is still a long way to go to meet the same standards.||The strong point of this hotel is its restaurant - I felt that it was more of a very good restaurant with rooms than a hotel with restaurant. The daily menu was excellent value for residents and of a high standard and the wine list was imnpressive. Breakfast was ok but nothing special. The rooms were starting to look worn - again, nothing special.||The most annoying aspect was the Wellness area. This is quoted as being free but when you go to use it you discover that:||||- you need to buy a special pair of slippers from the hotel at a cost of 3 Euros - you|| can't use your own, even if they are new.||||- no towels are provided in the Wellness area - you have to use a bathrobe and if you || haven't got your own with you, you have to hire one from the hotel for 5 Euros. ||||- the whirlpool works with a coin that costs 7 Euros - it lasts for about fifteen minutes but|| takes five to fill up.|||| We enjoyed ourselves but did feel that it wasn't enough just to have an excellent restaurant - the hotel needs to be brought up to the same...

Ottima esperienza sotto ogni punto di vista. Atmosfera, gentilezza, efficienza (abbiamo avuto due piccoli problemi tecnici in camera prontamente risolti), si dorme bene, si mangia bene, con ampia scelta (per i nostri gusti almeno, non siamo degli abbuffatori ma abbiamo sempre avuto grande soddisfazione dalla cucina, ed ho particolarmente apprezzato il plus di potersi fare sul momento un estratto di frutta e verdura a colazione in pochi secondi!) se però vi aspettate un corridoio di pirofile o piatti traboccanti, che trovo anche sprecati, non fa per voi. Posto ideale invece per gli appassionati di vino. Tutto pulito e curato. Gli ambienti comuni sono stati recentemente ristrutturati con un design molto moderno e bellissimo, le camere sono ancora tradizionali e un po' datate ma ben curate, pulite e funzionali, per noi andavano benissimo, con una splendida vista sul panorama in cui ogni tanto facevano capolino alcune mucche. Mi aspetto un risultato superlativo a seguito di rinnovo come il resto degli ambienti. Ottima la copertura wifi in tutti gli ambienti, ottimo il parcheggio ampio e gli spazi attrezzati ed arredati esterni, la piscina coperta e la spa, l' ampia e ben fornita cantina dei vini. C'è una postazione di manutenzione Mountain bike in esterno. Un gioiello a 5 minuti a piedi dal centro cittadino e dal supermercato, ottima base di partenza per ogni tipo di escursione nelle vicinanze e non solo, ottimo rapporto qualità prezzo, soprattutto se confrontato con quelli dell'alto Adige sempre più proibitivi. Il paese non è particolarmente turistico e frequentato, qui vedi il cuore della vita di montagna, dove non è tutto perfetto come una cartolina con l'esplosione di fiori sui balconi, ma è più autentico. Personalmente lo preferisco, meno persone e più tranquillità! Nella piazza comunque durante l'estate ci sono spesso eventi e mercatini serali. L'associazione pro loco ha una sede vicinissima all'hotel, con affisso il calendario eventi, è facile quindi trovare qualcosa per passare una serata. Anche se per me una passeggiata ed una tisana nel bar della struttura sono più che sufficienti!!! Un apprezzamento alla gestione perché riuscire a gestire la propria struttura ricettiva con questo standard in una zona poco affollata e con la concorrenza a destra e a sinistra di due regioni a statuto speciale che hanno molte agevolazioni in più, denota una grande capacità professionale ed una grande dedizione. Non dimenticate di visitare la Val Visdende, altro piccolo gioiello semisconosciuto ai più, imperdibile per gli appassionati...

Ich bezahlte mit einem Gutschein und merkte, wie versucht wurde, dennoch möglichst viel Geld aus meinem Besuch rauszuholen. Da die Zimmerkategorie des Gutscheins nicht mehr verfügbar war, wurde für den Balkon 5 Euro pro Nacht verrechnet. Der Eintritt ins Bad kostete einmalig happige 15 Euro für Bademantel, Badetuch und billigste Saunalatschen (nicht 12 wie auf dem Gutschein geschrieben). Obschon ich all dies auch dabeigehabt hätte, war es nicht erlaubt, die eigenen Utensilien zu nutzen. Das Hahnenwasser wurde mit 3 Euro pro Flasche (wohl 0.5L) verrechnet. Ich bezahlte schlussendlich inkl. Kurtaxe für meinen Aufenthalt von 2 Nächten weitere 33.40 Euro, obschon meine Übernachtung und das Essen mit dem Gutschein gedeckt war. Das Essen war maximal mittelmässig. Ziemlich genau die Hälfte der Gerichte war geschmacklos und uninspiriert, sprich kein Genuss. Die Zeiten, in denen das Restaurant vom Guide Michelin empfohlen wurde, scheinen längst vorbei (oder im Restaurant kocht ein anderer Koch als für die Halbpension-Gäste). Das Morgenessen hingegen war reichhaltig und gut für italienische Verhältnisse. Das Konzept Sport-Hotel gilt offenbar nicht fürs Skifahren: Weder gibt es eine Skibus-Anbindung (oder sonstig klug nutzbaren ÖV für die Fahrt ins Skigebiet) noch war ein Skiraum vorhanden (Ski wurden in einem normalen Raum auf einen Plastik gelegt). Man hätte das Hotel auch Monaco Wein Hotel nennen können: Der Wein ist omnipräsent, hunderte von Flaschen werden im Hotel und insbesondere auch im Essaal ausgestellt. In einem Sporthotel hätte ich persönlich einen Fokus auf alkoholfreie Drinks passender gefunden. Das Zimmer war alt. Das Bad wurde teilweise offensichtlich kostengünstig renoviert, die Duschbrause hielt z.B. schon nicht mehr und der Radiator knackte am sehr frühen Morgen jeweils so laut, dass ich erwachte. Schön war das Bad und die Mitarbeiter waren nett. Der Spa-Bereich konnte leider nicht gemeinschaftlich sondern nur privat genutzt werden für den Preis von 40 Euro für 2 Stunden - kein Attraktives Angebot für...
