Cinzia and Ricky have done a wonderful job creating an oasis of comfort and hospitality on their mountaintop farm, which has been in Cinzia's family for generations. Though we didn't stay at the farm, we were so lucky to get to visit them here as guests of Cinzia's other property in Montegiardino. As we drove in, our two-year old daughter couldn't help but cry out "Cow!! Cow!! Cow!!!" The beautiful long-horned cows are an ancient and rare breed, and we loved watching their beautiful faces grazing amongst the yellow flowers in the pastures. We were thrilled to see the small herd of sheep and a couple of baby lambs! And on top of it all, we saw Ricky (Cinzia's husband) return to the property on his beautiful horse after being out in the fields. It was wonderful! Nala, the family's dog, greeted us warmly as well and provided our daughter with much entertainment and belly rubs. But beyond the animals and the gorgeous views, nothing can compare to the hospitality of Cinzia and her family. Words really can't describe the kindness, care, and attention to detail. Everything has been thought of, and the workmanship of the space itself is truly one of a kind, since Ricky has done most of the renovations. Unexpectedly for our visit, Cinzia prepared a platter of food and poured us a drink since it was "aperitivo" time -- our daughter gobbled up the cookies and we were thrilled to eat cheese with honey from the bees that live right their on the farm! We were only there for a little over an hour, but we fell completely in love with this place. I'd highly recommend a stay to anyone who's looking for a genuine "farm" experience, for a chance to watch the sun rise and set and stare up at the stars, and for a gorgeous place to just get away from it all (without really being that far away from it all)!! Hopefully we'll have a chance to stay here ourselves...
Read moreMy husband and I spent the weekend at L'A Ceccoli with our children ages 13, 10, and 4. We have spent the last three years traveling all over Europe as ex pats, both for work and for pleasure, and our stay at L'A Ceccoli was our very favorite and a perfect ending to our three years overseas, just before we return to Chicago this week. Cenzia and her husband and family have managed to take the most wonderful elements of farm life -- the rolling green meadows, hills and valleys, the serenity of longhorn cattle grazing and the distant tinkling of sheep bells, sweet and gentle dogs rolling in the glass with children delighting in them, and crisp dried-in-the-Italian-sunshine sheets -- and packaged them in a modern way. You feel both completely relaxed and at-ease, and yet completely well-tended and spoiled by the attentiveness of Cenzia and the mind-blowing beauty of the farm's hilltop view of San Marino. It's hard to describe the perfection of this place. There are vacations where you feel transported but happy and ready to go back to "real life" and there are places that make you imagine completely changing your life to try to make them a little bit more like that vacation destination, and L'A Ceccoli is one of the latter. I left a piece of my heart there, and I cannot...
Read moreDuring our trip of Italy last summer we spent our best few days here. We travelled from hotel to hotel, but Cinzia's and Ricardo's agriturismo was a one of a kind experience that could not be beaten by any hotel - regardless of rating.||||The location is wonderful and with a great and unforgettable landscape in the peaks of the Apennine mountains with an overlook on San Marino in the distance. Highly recommended for people who want to rest and escape the daily stress and worry of life; you will forget all your problems. A very romantic and relaxing night under the stars with a view of a portion of the Milky Way Galaxy on a clear night.||||Cinzia and Ricardo are very friendly and helpful.||||The bedroom, bathroom and entire accommodation are very clean and prepared in a stylish manner. The kitchen has everything a kitchen needs, along with something extra...||||We want to come...
