Rachel and Jordan were very friendly from the 1st minute and extremely helpful with local knowledge throughout the week. They both helped us, amongst other things, with finding a Snowboard instructor, booking a Spa session, sorting out a Snow cat night trip to a mountain top restaurant for a 4 course meal and suggesting the local butcher/deli to buy some of the off the menu local meats and cheeses. Their help far exceeded the help offered by the Crystal Rep. The other hotel staff ( the lady who cleaned our room and the lady who kept topping up the fantastic breakfast spread) were also extremely helpful even through the language barrier. The Hotel has a great location with ski in and ski out and right next to the lift. The family room worked really well with our daughter having her own room and privacy adjacent to us. The rain forest shower head was brilliant with an endless supply of hot water. Coffee and cake every afternoon with home baked cakes was delicious and a great way to catch up with the other guests. The half board option taken at "The Grangia" Restaurant (due to unknown certainties with Covid restrictions) was an excellent choice, with Mariestella (The Boss) and the rest of the staff who were amazing as was the 3 course meal with chef's specials every night. Apres ski at "The Village Cafe" set the tone on the 1st evening and we didn't go anywhere else. When you go, ask "Marco" ( the barman) for a card trick. Will be very happy to book...
Read moreBreakfast always has a nice offering & the staff couldn’t be more helpful. The afternoon tea/cakes are a nice touch as there’s not a shop close by without going into town.||I am gluten free and normally go to France & struggle to be accommodated for. They gave me my own basket of breads, cupcakes and crackers etc. even had gluten free pizza in the tea time! ||It is the closest hotel to the slope and easy getting in/out. Rooms cleaned daily. ||Good middle ground option, just a shame the drinks machine isn’t accessible all times as there’s no kettle etc in the room. Could maybe do with a little snack bar you could buy cold drinks & chocolate etc from like the other hotels offer |||The locker room doesn’t have actual lockers everyone just hangs their kit on wooden hooks - it is key coded tho and others had no problem. ||Would...
Read moreThis hotel is exactly as written. The staff, lead by Jana are all very helpful, the rooms are basic and could do with more storage. However, they are very clean and the team changed our towels whenever we wanted. There is no bar nor anywhere to sit in the evening. But don’t let this put you off as the Matto bar next door is really homely and friendly with plenty of seating to sit with friends and enjoy a drink, sport or a good game of cards. We had the half board option, with dinner taken outside of the restaurant in the Grangia near the Clotes lift. The food was of excellent quality and again great staff with Carlo & Silvia looking after us. Also try the Avalanche bar, chilled vibe with great wine. All in all we definitely got value for money and a wonderful week skiing with friends. We would return to the...
