Hotel Martin — Hotel in Sauze d'Oulx

We have stayed with Max and Ricardo for 3 skiing holidays over the years and have just placed another booking with them. Should of left this review a long time ago.

The hotel is spotless clean with a beautiful rustic Italian feel. If you are looking for some help in choosing the most suitable wine to go along side their delicious dishes, Ricardo will be more than happy to provide his expertise.

My mother and father were both entry level skiers and after a couple of lessons with Ricardo and Max, they both had a lot more confidence and had seriously improved on their skiing abilities.

In terms of Skiing, Max and Ricardo offer private lessons of which are excellent value and very worth while. Max showed myself and my two brothers a private route which runs from the top of the Sportina/Pista all the way down the mountain to the end of the ski lift. One of our highlights !

Honestly couldn't reccomend this hotel more.

If you are looking for a relaxing break, an adventurous skiing holiday, delicious food, really enjoyable apre ski, a comfortable bed to sleep in and beautiful people than this is the best hotel in Italy !!

We absolutely loved our stay at Hotel Martin. Pros: Really comfortable beds, clean rooms and lovely modern bathrooms Very good quality food, however no choice, but 4 courses to find something you like Incredible desserts Great addition of fried eggs for breakfast Lovely homely feel and friendly staff Amazing taxi service to the lift in the mornings and afternoons (9am-10am & 4pm-5pm) Fantastic lift to get in the morning as it's super quiet and very little queuing Very well organised shuttle to Montgenevre (a little scary Italian driving!)

Cons: Their card machine hasn't been working (I suspect it hasn't for quite a while as the sign looks old) so you need to take enough cash with you for your end bill. You pay for EVERYTHING at the end of your holiday (taxi, shuttle, drinks etc.) Afternoon tea there is only tea to drink and the cakes are very dry. The cookies are amazing though I would have loved an additional pillow (only 1 provided) There wasn't really anywhere to put our suitcases on (we used the table and chair) You can hear your room neighbours really easily. Another fantastic ski trip made all the more special by our stay at the Hotel Martin. This is our 18th year staying at this Hotel and every year it gets better. Gabriel and the Staff looked after us very well and went out of their way to make us and all their guests feel very welcome. Real Italian friendliness and hospitality. Why do we keep coming back some people might ask. The Hotel Martin has so much to offer. It is in very close proximity to the 4 man chairlift at Jouvenceaux so no long queues like you experience in Sauze. You will always make friends both with the staff and other guests as the hotel is just the right size it is not too large and impersonal. It’s just got a lovely friendly feel. If you want to go into Sauze there is an option of walking in or a regular bus service almost on your doorstep. Ski hire and service available again almost on your doorstep.
