Hotel America — Hotel in Scafati

I booked Hotel America at short notice as our original hotel in Pompei was a disaster, my wife and I stayed in the suite which was superb.|The suite had an incredible sunken jacuzzi bath, a walk in shower, a private bathroom and a huge comfortable bed. There was also a private entrance to the garden and pool area.|The room and the rest of the hotel were spotlessly clean, this includes the exceptional pool area which has the stunning backdrop of Mount Vesuvious.|The staff here at Hotel America are extremely helpful, we can't speak much Italian and the staff could not speak much English but we managed to muddle through, they gave us restaurant tips and also provided transport via a local chap called Angelo who took us to Pompeii and other places, he was a very helpful man.|The location is quite far out, so a car would be a must as this hotel does not have a restaurant. Stayed in the "Dallas" room, nicely decorated. Very clean hotel, little out the way but knew that when booking. The bed was a bit hard for my liking but that's personal preference. Continental breakfast came with the booking which is a bonus. No coffee etc in rooms which is a shame. Kind staff. Great for a base if you're travelling around Pompei and further a field like we did. Had an issue with the room phone on last night, rang 3 times (we unplugged after that) reception night staff were rude and not helpful, didn't really get to the bottom of it and as it was an isolated issue doesn't take away from the rating as a whole. Would recommend...

Nous avions choisi cet hôtel du fait d'un prix attractif et de la possibilité d'arrivée tardive. Et nous n'avons pas été déçus ! L'hôtel est facile à trouver comme se situant juste à la sortie de la voie rapide arrivant à Scafati depuis l'arrière du Vésuve. Belle vue sur ce dernier depuis le parking (privé) et certaines chambres. Le personnel s'est montré bien sympathique malgré l'obstacle de la langue (français non parlé) et a su tout au long de notre séjour gentiment s'adapter à nos impératifs horaires pourtant parfois très matinaux. Le petit déjeuner se prend dans une partie privative du bar América juste à côté de l'hôtel et a satisfait toute la famille (un jus de fruit, une boisson chaude et un croissant fourré principalement). Les chambres sont spacieuses, bien équipées et décorées dans un style moderne et original orienté US (les enfants ont particulièrement aimé le grand tableau lumineux représentant la ville donnant le nom à la chambre). La couleur blanche domine dans tout hôtel (très récent je pense) qui est très propre et bien tenu. Si les environs de l'hôtel sont quelconques (début de campagne autour de Scafati), les nuits y sont calmes. Depuis l'hôtel on peut accéder rapidement à Napoli par la voie rapide mais également après avoir traversé 5 à 10 minutes Scafati (sauf circulation) via l'autoroute littorale. L'hôtel se situe à 10 minutes environ en voiture des ruines de Pompéi. Si nous revenons du côté de Naples, nous orienterons à nouveau notre choix vers...
