Danaide Resort — Hotel in Scanzano Jonico

The good private beach is some 800 m away and is well served with electric 'navettes' in every 5-10 minites. The drive takes 3 min, or you could walk pleasantly through the wood.||The rooms are very comfortable, new, tidy and even luxurious. We were settled in an apartment with bedroom, sitting room, kitchen box with all facilities (fridge, cookery, plates, etc.), veranda and two baths. The service is very professional and efficient.||Overall the resort is well planned, especially its central pool area, and it is well maintained. ||||The main weak point is the restaurant - with practically no terrace, be prepared for a noisy experience in overcrowded halls. The food is OK, but not exceptional (no hot buffet for breakfast, for example). Another minus is the loud evening music all over the place until 1 am.||||Another drawback of Danaida resort complex is its isolation. Unless you do not dispose of a car, it is a very unsuitable base for exploring local Italian provinces Basilicata and Puglia, There is no public transport, the nearest township Scanzano is too far away (4-5 km) for walking, the only available local organized excursions by the Futuro chain are poorly executed or not at all. The reception staff could find you rent-a-car at too high price: 95 euro a day or 145 euro with a full casco. If you ask them for a taxi to Scanzano the taxi company would try to extract 30 or even 60 euros for a round trip. I could recommend trying to contact some local transport company like Melidoro Osvaldo (its good if you have some Italian-speaker for communicating with them). We managed to visit in this way very efficiently Matera and Taranto, and both towns are very rewarding tourist...

We are currently staying at Danaide it is really nice. ||||Other (non Italian) reviewers are not necessarily wrong, but colored by expectation. If you are looking for quietness and tranquility, don’t come. It is ‘resort style’ so with kids, music and entertainment. It is Italian, so don’t expect an English breakfast. And true, most won’t speak much English, however they will try their best to help you. ||||It is in the middle of nowhere (but you could have seen that on the map), but the tiny market has fair prices and you can always rent a car.||||The apartments are spacious, modern, clean and quiet (keeps the music out). The buffet has (due to covid restriction) limited choice - 4 salads, 4 primi, 4 secondi and 3 desserts - , but good quality. Given previous reviews: now they have a proper espresso machine in the morning and wine included in the evening. The pool is nice and has enough beds. The beach is near, and nice. People are friendly, drinks are good, food is fine, everything is very clean; so I would definitely advice to go here, especially if you would like to ‘feel’ that you are abroad and don’t care to change your daily rhythm to the local one.||||Only improvements would be the WiFi that is fast, but only accessible near the reception and the lack of an outside...

Abbiamo soggiornato io e la mia compagna per la prima volta al Danaide Resort, prenotando tramite Agenzia e complessivamente siamo rimasti veramente soddisfatti, anche se nello specifico, alcune cose vanno riviste. Vi racconterò adesso la nostra esperienza : all'arrivo siamo rimasti senza parole per questa Maestosa Struttura (non trovo altri aggettivi per descriverla), veramente Fantastica. La Camera che avevamo, aveva l'affaccio sulla Piazza, dove più volte, seduti dal nostro "balconcino", ammiravamo gli Spettacoli. Tuttavia, (NOTA NEGATIVA) questi ultimi finivano in media verso le 00:30 quindi prendere sonno prima era impossibile. La Piscina è immensa e ben strutturata, ideale soprattutto per chi ha dei bambini; infatti quest'ultimi toccheranno quasi sempre il fondale grazie all'ottima suddivisione. NOTA NEGATIVA : (che però dipende dai Genitori e non dai Bagnini che cercavano di svolgere al meglio il loro lavoro) a volte la quiete e la tranquillita' in piscina veniva disturbata da ragazzini maleducati e volgari che iniziavano a dire oscenità e a fare tuffi, rovinando l'atmosfera di relax. Passando all' argomento Mare è veramente il TOP, specialmente la mattina, infatti si riesce a vedere la sabbia (con tutto che è scura) e anche le Meduse. Quest'ultime ci tengo a precisare non sono pericolose, si tratta della specie : Medusa Barile, meglio nota come "Polmone di Mare" che aiuta a mantenere limpidi e cristallini i Mari del Mediterraneo, quindi non le uccidete solo perchè avete paura, non fanno nulla, lasciatele lavorare. La spiaggia si può raggiungere a piedi (sono circa 500/600 Mt.) attraversando una bellissima pineta se si ha voglia di camminare, oppure vi consiglio la Navetta che passa ogni 5 minuti. NOTA NEGATIVA : il Pomeriggio purtroppo il Mare si inizia ad intorbidire e a sporcare. Inoltre se userete la Navetta potreste trovarvi ad assistere alle classiche sceneggiate Napoletane, con persone che rispettano la fila in un modo tutto loro e fanno i furbetti buttandosi davanti e lasciandovi attendere altri 5 minuti. Questa cosa purtroppo è capitata spesso con i miei Compaesani, ma onestamente a me non mi cambiava nulla aspettare, mentre a loro forse si, quindi ho preferito evitare polemiche inutili. Ora passiamo alla cosa per me Fondamentale che mi ha deluso moltissimo : Il Cibo, o meglio, la Qualità di quest'ultimo. Tanta, ma tantissima Quantità, ma poca Qualità, piatti spesso sempre uguali e non conditi. Gestione dei Tavoli lasciata allo sbaraglio, infatti ci siamo ritrovati in più di un occasione a stare con i piatti in mano (il Ristorante è a Buffet) ma non avere un posto dove sederci. Per fortuna il problema è stato risolto quasi subito dallo Staff di Sala che è veramente Educato e disponibile. Capisco che bisogna soddisfare più di 500 Ospiti e che fanno tutti un lavoro veramente duro e stancante (infatti mentre noi ci rilassiamo e andiamo al Mare loro sgobbano e cercano di fare del loro meglio), però per una Struttura del Genere peccare sul Cibo non è cosa da poco e Gestire meglio la Sala con delle Prenotazioni non sarebbe male. Volendo comunque è possibile accedere ad un secondo Ristorante, dove però la consumazione è alla Carta, oppure ad una Pizzeria dov'è possibile anche l'asporto in Camera. Quest'ultima niente male, la Pizza è buona la consiglio. Una menzione Speciale va agli Animatori di Futura Club che hanno fatto un lavoro Magistrale, con tutte le attività e Spettacoli proposti. In conclusione consiglio il Danaide Resort? ASSOLUTAMENTE SI, soprattutto per chi ha bimbi. Ci ritornerei? Non in Coppia, ma con un futuro...
