b&b Giardino dei Sugheri — Hotel in Scarlino

We've been coming to Follonica for 5 years and every year we tried a different B&B in the area. ||This is the first place we would like to come back to. ||The combination of the things they offer more than matches the price for the experience. ||Let's start with the location: high up for great views at sunrise and sunset, easy enough to reach in a small car (much more than other places) because half of it is on Tarmac. ||There's a great pool and lots of outside space tailored to all sorts of uses, even candle lit dinners. ||The service is friendly, unobtrusive and informative if you ask about things to do in the area. Great tips about local restaurants and beaches to visit. ||There is the use of a full kitchen (in case you want to rustle up a simple dinner or some pre dinner snacks) and free unlimited espresso from the great machine. |We ended up having three evenings in, dining outside and star gazing, moving onto the double hammock after dinner to spot some falling stars. ||It's basically like living at home. We stayed for 3 nights at this lovely B & B located in the hills amongst a beautiful garden. It's a perfect base to explore Tuscany and close to the beautiful township of Scarlino and the Scarlino marina. We received excellent recommendations to fantastic beaches and walks close by from the friendly owners and loved our outings. We enjoyed the picturesque and peaceful outlook from the property and the quintessential Tuscan colours of the hills as the sun set. On one of the nights the B & B was quiet and so we set up our chairs outside for a romantic anti pasti we'd sourced from a supermarket close with a lovely Italian rosso and it was fantastic to have the garden to ourselves. The seclusion was a great escape.||||The breakfasts were in the garden and were fresh and ample and the only detraction from our stay was that our room was quite small and a noisy young family were next door and the walls were quite thin and so the noise did keep us awake.||||Otherwise, this is a...

We found everyone here to be so friendly and obliging. They really couldn't do enough to make us feel welcome and were exceedingly kind and helpful. The property is beautifully finished inside and has lovely landscaped gardens. Our bedroom was pretty and comfortable. Breakfast was a luxurious treat of fresh fruit and cake. We made good use of the kitchen facilities and enjoyed several days relaxing by the pool, enjoying the gardens in the peace of the delightful surroundings. There are great views over the hill side and in the distance the sea, Elba and on a really clear day on to Corsica. It was wonderful to enjoy a glass of local wine while watching the sunset.
