I think we were some of the first to play this course since it reopened after a long closure since Covid, the pro informed us that the course was bought and reopened recently, with plans for a full refurb, course clearly no where near its prime, but you can see the works begun to restore it. 360 views of mountains. Hope to play it again someday when it’s been brought back to its former glory, it’s a challenging course no doubt about it, a lot of elevated shots, some blind dog legs. Water, asks a lot of questions. If you are playing it soon just be aware it’s been left abandoned for 6 years and works just began on it, I think it’s priced to reflect that.
When we first arrived we thought it was closed down from first appearances, but getting onto the course you could see 3 green keepers working hard. I’d say it’ll be in great shape next season. Best of luck to the team there really accommodating and friendly. Former European tour course for a reason, spectacular views of the Tuscan hills, fields of sunflowers and medieval towns makes it quiet a special course that deserves the tlc...
Read moreThe location of this property is probably unbeatable. Rooms are spacious, bathroom neat and clean. No WIFI reception in the room. We were right opposite of tee box 1 with a great view. The public areas outside of the restaurant are in need of some maintenance. Dining outside is very pleasant although I recommend that you reserve this although this seems not to be necessary according the staff. We had an unpleasant discussion with what seem to be the restaurant manager who needed some convincing that we would like to eat outside on a great warm day in July. In a great setting overlooking the course, with candles. And suddenly loud rock music as background music. Asking to change this as this was totally out of tune, they only turned down the volume. This is a great opportunity for the restaurant to improve the ambience. Our "restaurant manager" was also not further interested in us guests. Some of the waitering staff we found just "doing a job" with one exception our waitress Xoana. Hotel staff is efficient and very friendly. Besides these small incidents we had...
Read moreThe rooms were huge and comfortable with a generous balcony over looking the Golf Course. The king sized bed's were super comfy and the free WiFi worked brilliantly in the room. The gym was fine and had all the equipment you'd expect in a hotel gym - just needed water and small towels which weren't provided.||||The staff were superb both at reception and the restaurants - being Gluten Free they looked after us incredibly well - the breakfast, lunch and dinner were all sublime. The outdoor setting for dinner is unrivaled. We were given great recommendations to eat out too in the nearby towns - thoroughly recommend Pizzeria I' Regolo.||||The 'better half's' played golf whilst we enjoyed the loungers poolside (there were always more loungers than people regardless of the time of day) - it was beautifully tranquil, the pool (25m) was very clean and great for swimming. The smaller jet pool was ideal for a quick dip to cool down.||||A big thanks to all the staff at Poggio Dei Medici for making our stay so memorable - we...
