Villa Dei Papiri Resort — Hotel in Syracuse

It's been approximatively two weeks since I've came back from Sicilia, and I thought I had to write some lines on this place. It may be tricky to find it at first, but once you get there, the location is ideal ! Very close from Syracuse and inside a natural reserve. You can also easily goes from there to Noto, Ragusa and Modica. The staff is incredibly nice, we had to get to the airport really early and they ask us if we needed a small breakfast bag, we didn't have to ask for it. The receptionist gave us a lot of informations regarding how to reach and park in Ortigia. Also, as it is a farm, there's animals there and they look well cared and happy there, which is really major point for me ! The only mitigate point I can find is the rooms. Ours seemed to be not completly soundproof. We are a bit of night-owls and it seems that we kind of annoyed our neighbourgs with our laughters and animated discutions...Sorry about that unknown neighbourgs...We really should have been...

This property is a unique gem tucked away on the outside of Syracuse. The setting is so tranquil and you are surrounded by the beauty of nature. The breakfast was very good and served in a spectacular setting. It was an easy drive into town and the staff gave us directions to a grocery store where we stocked up on wine and cheese for our Happy Hour. We were traveling with friends and enjoyed gathering outside using one of their many picnic tables and enjoying the beautiful views and the serenity of our surroundings. We were in the Rosa cottage and had an issue running out of hot water. Our friends who were in nearby cottages had no issues so maybe it was just the Rosa...

I stayed here with my husband in August. If you love to sleep with RATS it's perfect!!! Staff can't speak english. We had a rat in our room, eating our stuff in the night. We walked the day after to the big hall where we had breakfast in the morning and we saw dead rats on the garden. They say "IT'S NORMAL!?" smoking cigar. This big Villa is definetely too expensive for what they offer! No swimming pool, no restaurant, no expert staff, no elegance, no cleanliness, only appearance on pictures online! They recommend Villa Cristina - still rude staff and meals - but we needed move somewhere else. Siracusa is so beautiful to spend your nights in such an horrible...
