Bed & Breakfast La Torretta — Hotel in Tavullia

My husband and I are not long back from a week’s stay in this truly remarkable house. We are MotoGP fans (and not to mention a certain Doctor!) and always fancied visiting his home town at some point. We were not disappointed!||||Mario is the owner of this magnificent B&B and I can honestly say he is one of the loveliest people I have ever met in my life. He couldn’t do enough for us to make us feel at home. His daughter made breakfast every morning and makes the most delicious cakes, breads and jams which suited my husband as he could live on cake alone! There is a huge roof terrace with beautiful views over the rolling Italian hills and Rossi’s ranch (who was on track by the way). There is also an indoor swimming pool which looked divine but as I can’t swim, I just admired from afar! I can honestly say that I have never stayed anywhere that is so scrupulously clean. I could not fault this place in any way.||||There are so many beautiful places to visit in this part of Italy as well so even if you are not into the MotoGP I would still recommend this stay. ||||Whether you hire a car or arrive by motorbike then Coriano (the birth place of the legend SIC) is must on your list as it is only a half hour drive away from here and is a very picturesque town. We had a wonderful one night in La Torretta. The B&B has very good location if you are headed for example to Florence or San Marino.

The room we (2 adults and a 13-year old) stayed in was Caterina. It was a spacious rooms with a mini fridge and a bathroom. Everything was spotless clean and the bed linen and towels were fresh and clean. The room was in the second floor, but there was also an elevator you could use. It was very essential! The room and the yard has good view to surronding hills and the Valentino Rossi Motor ranch was near by also.

There was a heated pool we could use. That was an excellent way to relax. The best thing was host Mario and hostess Nicoletta. They were so kind and friendly! We had a lovely breakfast, that had unigue items like homemade pear jam and jam made of fruits. Also the breads were homemade and we could choose what kind of eggs we wanted and they were made for us. There was also fresh juice and yogort served at the breakfast.

Parking was safe and easy, there is parking space just in front of the building. The B&B was easy to find also. And in the evening we had a lovely dinner at Ristorante la Pantana, a place Mario recommended to us and he also made the table reservation for us. The restaurant had very delicious food and the best zuppa inglese I have ver tasted.

Abbiamo prenotato in questo posto durante il ponte dell'immacolata 2022 perché speravamo di trascorrere 2 giorni di relax in famiglia ma così non è stato. |Contattando il proprietario via mail per confermare il preventivo, il proprietario stesso mi chiede a che ora vogliamo fare il check in. Comunico che saremmo arrivati in tarda mattinata ma che avremmo anche potuto spostare l'orario senza problemi. Il proprietario mi comunica che non essendoci nessun altro cliente in struttura, a lui andava bene quell'orario di arrivo.||Sia via mail che all'arrivo, chiediamo inoltre gli orari della piscina interna riscaldata e ci viene ribadito che è aperta dalle 9 alle 18. Però Appena arrivati ci viene detto che ci sono dei giorni in cui la piscina non è agibile al mattino e che noi non potevamo saperlo perché c'è scritto solo sopra a un foglio attaccato sulla porta della camera. Sul sito di questa informazione non c'è traccia. Non mi lamento della questione perché non voglio rovinarmi il weekend. ||Appena arrivati il proprietario ci comunica che non essendoci nessun altro, possiamo anche usare la piscina al mattino; sistemiamo dunque le valige e andiamo in piscina. Ci stiamo per un'oretta poi quando è ora di pranzo andiamo a mangiare. Appena finiamo verso le 14.30 torniamo in piscina e troviamo la porta di accesso chiusa a chiave, la piscina completamente coperta dal telo e le porte esterne aperte (quindi essendo dicembre l'ambiente era gelato). Chiamo il proprietario che si mette a polemizzare al telefono e mi dice che non gli era mai capitato che le persone volessero andare in piscina sia prima che dopo pranzo (cioè due volte). Prova a farci sentite in difetto e in colpa dicendoci che ora la piscina è fredda (perchè ha aperto le porte esterne per far asciugare il pavimento) e il gas per il riscaldamento costa e che alla mattina ci ha già fatto usare la piscina a dispetto degli orari di apertura. Fa storie e cerca di non riaprire la piscina. Mi rinfaccia anche che il check in era previsto per la 14 mentre noi siamo arrivati prima (nella mail ci ha chiesto l'orario di arrivo e ci ha detto che andava bene, così come non ha specificato il discorso che la piscina fosse inagibile durante diverse mattinate della settimana). Cerca di farci sentire in colpa e ci tratta in modo davvero inappropriato. Gli faccio presente che a me non era mai capitato di dover questionare su un mio diritto: mi aveva detto che la piscina era aperta dalle 9 alle 18. Non avrebbe dovuto chiuderla oppure avrebbe dovuto chiarire preventivamente a voce o via mail.|All'arrivo è stato molto cortese e cordiale, dopo la polemica, la sua cortesia è diventata fredda e formale, soprattutto in contrasto con il comportamento tenuto verso gli altri clienti. Si percepiva chiaramente che era un trattamento non scortese ma freddo, e la cosa ci ha fatto sentire molto a disagio.||Ci ha rovinato la vacanza. Non consiglio questo posto, noi non ci torneremo. N.B La piscina è molto più piccola di come appare nelle foto del sito.|Le camere hanno una arredamento decisamente antiquato e la ventola che c'è in bagno fa un rumore fastidioso (stanza Caterina). Lo stesso proprietario si è accorto del rumore metallico della ventola in bagno e ci ha detto che se fosse stato troppo fastidioso avrebbe potuto "battere sulla ventola" per vedere se la cosa...
