Stayed in this lovely hotel for 3 nights in August 2010. The hotel is in the small village of Sopramonte near Trento and is set in a lovely location with breathtaking mountain views on one side and a lovely alpine meadow and orchard on the other. The rooms are nicely decorated and very clean with a modern TV and a large bathroom with quality fittings. However, there is no air conditioning and it was rather warm in August, they provide a fan but it didn't help much. There was no tea and coffee making facility in the room and no travel iron / board (pretty standard for Italy unfortunately)||||We booked a Junior Suite, however, whilst our room was large and had a lovely balcony, I wouldn't describe it as a Junior Suite, whilst large and certainly a superior room, there was not a sitting or lounge area, despite this being advertised on the website. In fact the website had a picture of our very room listed as a standard - at first the hotel wouldn't concede the point but when faced with the website picture they agreed to charge me for a standard. I note the website has now changed and state "some" of their Junior Suites have sitting areas and have removed the picture, which means that they are still selling that room as a JS. I wouldn't let the above experience, however, put you off staying there, the staff were polite and very helpful and the public rooms are very comfortable too, the library is terrific with a range of very interesting books in many languages. ||||The hotel does not have a restaurant (odd for a 4 star) and this is not that clear on some of the booking websites, so you definitely do need a car, however, the staff have discount brochures and good recommendations for many local places, the ones we found were delightful and the food (and views) excellent. There is a small bar though but beware it closes sharp at 2300 and you are also asked to leave the public rooms at this time, I found that a pity because on one occasion I was quite happy enjoying an evening whiskey and a good book when I was kicked out, again not really a 4 star expectation. Breakfast was high quality and very enjoyable with freshly made pastries and home made preserves being particularly good.||||There is a Spa area, we didn't venture to it, it looked quite small but well appointed, however, they wanted to charge guests a hefty additional sum for its use, even if you only wanted a dip in the pool - everyone staying complained about this and they really ought to re-examine this policy.||||The area around the hotel is spectacular and there is so much to see and do in some of the most spectacular scenery you will find in Italy.||||I would definitely recommend this hotel, it is quiet, peaceful, and comfortable and clean with friendly...
Read moreWe stayed at the Relais Vecchio Maso for two nights. This is a brand new place with a lot of tasteful and beautiful detail. However, we came accross some odd bits. Some days before we arrived we asked for a baby cot for our son. The answer was that this has already been allocated to another guest and our son had to sleep in our bed. No big deal for a couple of nights. To our suprise we did notice that we were the only guests when we arrived - so where was the cot? The rooms are beaitufully presented in dark wood, white linens etc. But there is a lack of storage space. also the bathroom door has a window and does not provide the privacy required. In the bathroom is no space to put toothbrush, lotion and potions etc. . The pool and spa area is again beatifully presented and we enjoyed two evenings in there. Since we were the only guests this was rather nice. The staff in the hotel was very friendly but not very knowledgeable about where to eat dinner etc. We were sent to a mountain restaurant with wrong directions and it was probably the worst food experience we ever had. the food was microwaved, cold inside, poor quality etc. We mentioned this to the hotel staff on our return. The breakfast in the hotel is very italian, meaning brioche, cakes, yogurth, canned fruit , jam and coffee. The bar is also limited and so was the knowledge of the bar staff. Overall, a place with a lot...
Vabbe quindi carta.. ( erano 6€. Musica leggera e cromoterapia.
