We had booked the Hotel Velasole for a quick stop over after flying into Olbia. I had read reviews that said it was hard to find and they were right! I could find no directions on line before leaving England except that it was just off the main road after leaving the SS131 for Sinicsola. It's not! After leaving the SS131 for Siniscola you reach a small roundabout. Instead of continuing straight over towards Siniscola take the last exit. This is the SS125 which heads North back towards Posada and runs parallel to the SS131. The Hotel is just up this road on your right. Unluckily for us our flight was delayed and we arrived in the dark so struggled to find the Hotel. Several phone calls later to a staff member who spoke a little more English than my next to nothing Italian, we stumbled across the Hotel more by luck than judgement at half past midnight. The lady who had taken my phone calls waited up for us to show us to our room which was much appreciated.||The room itself was basic but clean and had air conditioning. We were a little dissapointed by the breakfast which consisted of a croissant and a yoghurt as we expected a little more for what we paid. We left early that morning to head on down the coast so did not get to see much else of the Hotel. We were grateful to get our heads down in a clean bed and ultimately this Hotel was only meant to be a quick stopover so suited our needs. However it had little character and a meager breakfast so we would probably look for something else if we were to return...
Read moreVery friendly staff, we used this hotel to break down the trip from Cagliari to Olbia ferries. The place itself is kinda old, with some major problems like incredibly noisy a/c, but there is to say the breakfast is minimal but with homegrown fantastic fruit and hot croissants, fresh orange juice, and the guys are super helpful and kind. We had some delicious figs and pears directly from their garden. I travel a lot and this hotel remind me a lot of Rimini's riviera family hotels. It s definitely recommended for families and elderlies. Inside you can find some very useful facilities like water dispenser, ice dispenser, a very nice common garden with a freezer and some tables to eat open air. Quietness was amazing, and some incredible skies opens in front of your eyes in the night. In less than ten minutes you can reach La Caletta, a very organized and young place full of restaurants, souvenir shops, pubs, fairs and traditional masks exhibitions. Thanks to the staff, they...
Read more😊: First and foremost, we are grateful for the whole support provided to us by Gianni, the owner of the hotel, who, besides the very positive attitude that made us feel welcome, offered us great insights and suggestions regarding the restaurants, beaches and cruises. The same joyful attitude we had the chance to experience from the staff, which helped us feel at home. Needless to say, the hotel is exceptionally clean, our room being cleaned daily, including the replacement of the bed sheets and towels. Also needless to say, the breakfast is a delight that allowed us to start the day properly, with the best coffee we've had on the island, without any exaggeration. The area is very quiet, which allowed us to sleep very well every night. Moreover, various trees are planted around the hotel, bringing a very pleasant scent into the...
