Our time spent with LA Mezzaluna with Rita was AWESOME! Words could never really explain the experience l. Rita made you feel at home the moment you stepped into LA the time you left. I have to admit I had my doubts || what will do for Seven Days at a Cooking school! I thought I might get BORED! OMG, was I ever wrong. She kept us moving in the kitchen ! Our pasta cooking was out of this world! I learned several new cooking terms, a pinch of this, a nob of butter, just 2 minutes longer! When we were not cooking, she|| toured us around the various towns around the area. We went to excellent two Winery's for wine tasting and a Tour of the Winery plus lunch!|Rita shares her knowledge of the area with great detail and passion. All the Wine, Beer, Cokes, Bottled Water is included in your price. We| casually mentioned next time we go out, let's pick up some chocolate!|Twenty minutes later, Rita walks in with several Chocolate Bar's, she went to the local store and bought us Chocolate Bars! |I highly recommend Rita's Cooking| School at LA Mezzaluna! you will not be disappointed! We had the great pleasure of joining Rita’s cooking class in Barga about a week ago – and it was an absolutely wonderful experience.

Rita speaks fluent English with a charming Glasgow accent 🙂, which made communication and her explanations very pleasant and easy to follow. From the moment we arrived, we were warmly welcomed and even received cooking aprons to keep as a lovely souvenir. We were also well taken care of with delicious wine throughout the class.

During the course, we learned about many different dishes and pasta types – not only was it fun and interesting to prepare them, but everything tasted absolutely delicious. The small group of six participants made the whole experience feel very personal and entertaining.

After cooking, we all sat down together at a long table, almost like a big family dinner. To top it all off, Alex, Rita’s friend, treated us to a few songs, adding a very special and charming touch to the evening.

Rita looked after us so wonderfully - from the moment we stepped off the plane to the moment we returned to the airport a week later. We were collected at the airport and driven to La Mezza Luna through beautiful countryside and Rita told us a bit about the history of how it all came about. Once there we were spoiled rotten. A full itinerary of wonderful cooking classes, trips to Pisa, Lucca and some beautiful hilltop towns, wine tastings, the market etc. The food was beautiful authentic Italian dishes all generously served with unlimited wine. We felt very much at home amongst our beautiful surroundings and made some lovely friends with our fellow chefs and of course Rita who is the most warm, kind, generous host you could wish for. The evenings were spent listening to Alex and Matt singing and they managed to get everyone up dancing. We couldn't have wished for a more wonderful holiday.
