😊: The grounds and the view are beautiful! Having a pool is nice, and it's only 15 minutes away from Pienza by car, which is a really nice city to go in for the day or for dinner.. 😢: We booked a family suite, which came with the smallest fridge we ever saw. They provided no wine glasses in the room for us to enjoy some wine (we are in Tuscany expecting to be able to enjoy the bottles we buy at the vineyards we visit) and no bottle opener. The family suite is one room with a bed and one room with a sofa bed, for 220 Euros a night is just not good enough for the price. Everywhere else we stayed in Italy, we got way more for this price. We were quite shocked on arrival. We tried enjoying our stay as much as possible and not be brought down by what felt like a bad hotel choice, but we can't even say we liked the food because they charge the same price as restaurants in town. There is no benefit for guests to eat there. Aperol Spritz for 10 euros doesn't make sense when you're paying 220 euros a night. This is also not as pretty in person as on the photos, things are older than they look on here. I feel bad leaving this bad review, but I really feel like we relied on ourselves to have a fun time, and the property more often than not felt like we had been duped. The lounge chairs are mostly broken, the umbrellas are sometimes too small to provide shade for more than half a chair. We went to the pool one day and couldn't really find comfort there. I know this may sound harsh, but when you pay a certain price, you expect certain services. We came for a relaxing vacation in Tuscany, booked for 5 nights and wished we could have left after one. I will not remember this place very fondly, and they are sitting on such a beautiful property that could be soooo wonderful if they just decided not to...
Read moreFrom the moment we drove up the gravel road lined with Cypress trees to the hilltop villa, we felt we were living the "Tuscan holiday" experience. The setting is beautiful, peaceful with gorgeous 360 views. A few kilometers from Pienza, less than 10 km from Montalcino & Montepulciano. An hour south of Sienna. We rented a very large studio with loft for 6 persons for 3 nights (August 2018): 2 twins on ground floor, 2 twins on loft, 1 double sofa bed. It had 2 bathrooms, 2 AC units. Rooms were clean; beds, linens, and towels were fresh. No kitchen or laundry. Very comfortable. The inn itself is only about 20 years old - having been rebuilt from rubble. They maintained the traditional villa look, but has all the modern conveniences. The place is currently managed by 3 20-somethings, and they worked VERY hard to please. We asked the restaurant manager for a recommendation for wine tasting, and he immediately called in a reservation on our behalf for a private wine tasting at Innocenti winery in Montalcino. (Amazing experience; delicious Brunello de Montalcino!) We asked the hostess for a dinner recommendation, and she too called in a reservation at Osteria Baccus in Pienza. It turns out the place was booked solid - don't know how she got that reservation on short notice; they took no walk-ins that night. We felt special, and the Tuscan food was delicious. We had breakfast (5 euros/person) every morning - large assortment of meats, cheeses, pastries, fruits, juices and waters, and one hot coffee drink. A very good spread. We signed up for one "home made" Tuscan dinner, which was served in their courtyard on the warm summer night we were there. Delightful. Pool...
Read moreAn old 13th century house, converted into an inn with all the modern amenities. The property is not so special as far as architecture is concerned, for Delhi has too many old bungalows with wooden roof beams and rafters with wrought iron fenced fire places and brick chimney, but very special as it is set in amazingly beautiful scenic surroundings typical of Tuscany .The location is wonderful, a pristine hideout in nowhere. ||The service provided right from our check in till our departure was really great. We stayed for two nights with our son and his fiancé in a family suit, which was really spacious and had a nice bathroom. We asked for a kettle and some cups for our convenience for tea in a room and it was provided promptly with a generous supply of tea/coffee kits, a great service. The young couple who caters to guests is of very amiable nature. It was a pleasant surprise to have a good billiard table, so my son and I enjoyed few games of snooker in the quiet of nature. The historic town of Pienza is just half an hour drive, so explored the town and relished the lunch and dinner tasting local specialties at eateries of Pienza. We were fortunate to also participate in the Pienza festivities which were on during our visit. Taste the life Tuscan style – Dolce Vita. ||This place is advisable for stay only for those who own self driven car, or those adventurous youngsters who can do cycling up and down to Pienza and back. The area of improvements may be better Wi-Fi strength in the rooms and paving some portion of road in the vicinity of property. Remember the approach road to inn is just dark and very dusty so plan you timings for...
