If you are looking for a converted tuscan farm Villa haphazardly done as someone’s “personal project” this is not it.
What this is is a state of the art small boutique hotel/villa designed (architect-owner) and manage by the owner-couple.
The main building is at the top of a small Tuscan hill surrounded by crop fields. It is modeled after a classic Tuscan villa with the exterior walls covered with repurposed field stones. Everything else is modern premium commercial grade materials including remote controlled iron gates to access the property and also a second gate to access the underground cement parking lot, outdoor patio with long chairs and simili-stone in ground swimming pool.
Inside the finishings are high end and tastefully executed including a cor-ten modern steel stair case, cut stone and stained wood flooring. There is even a small glass and chrome elevator to take your luggage up from the underground parking to the upper living floor.
We booked the corner deluxe room which had views of the tuscan country side in two directions. The room was very spacious and designed with the comforts of a fine boutique hotel. This included: high ceilings with exposed wood beams (I’m going to guess more than 15 feet high), wide plank stained hard wood flooring, wall mounted smart TV, electronic thermostat, numerous USB charging plugs, 20 power outlets no less (including one that remains powered even if you remove your room card - for charging during the day), his and hers night tables with dimmable lights, bedside power outlets, remote controlled blinds for the two large bay windows (so you can enjoy the morning view without having to get out of bed; and the windows have modern fixtures allowing them to open 3 ways), integrated furniture (including a bed with memory foam top, closet, work desk, build-in mini fridge with complimentary supplies), arco- style floor lamp, two large sitting chairs, bistro glass table....
The bathroom had a large counter space with double sinks, numerous power outlets, blower dryer, toiletry kits, all steel-chrome racks and fixtures, stone floor and the biggest walk-in shower stall I’ve seen in Italy (as reference: much larger than a standard North America bath space) with multifunction large rain and handset shower heads and with integrated mood lighting.
Breakfast is a buffet served in the common space on the ground floor and includes locally made yoghurt, cereals, croissants, daily home made baked goods, cut fresh fruits, local cheese and cold cut platter.... and of course self-serve automatic espresso/coffee maker.
The hotel is located in Val D’Orcia on a country road within 15-20 minute drive to the areas fabulous medieval sites including: Pienza, Bagno Vignoni, Montepulciano, Radicofani, Bagni San Filippo, Monticchiello, Castiglione D’Orcia....
The hosts were welcoming and genuine while being professional and attentive. The owner Laura speaks English and help us plan our daily trips.
We had booked this hotel with some hesitancy given that this brand new property had very few reviews online. We were also somewhat worried that the location was less than ideal. We ended up being pleasantly surprised.
We booked a single night on-line while we were staying in Siena in order to visit the tuscan countryside. After our first night we asked to book 2 more nights; then two more nights after that for a total of five nights. That’s how much we loved this places
We really loved our stay here.
We’ve added photos of the property and surrounding vistas...

The architect and owner of the property, Simone, created a beautiful modern Tuscan mansion, using the stones from the previous farmhouse who once stood on that hilltop which is surrounded by stunning views of the valley. The property has 6 bedrooms, a lovey small dining area for the amazing farm to table/homemade breakfast, a cozy lounge area to watch one of the most beautiful sunsets and a lovely pool to freshen up during the summer heat.||Laura & Simone were the most welcoming, friendly hosts we have ever met. And we have travelled 40 countries. Laura took care of our every need. She helped us set up for a lovey wine & cheese which we bought at the market, made reservations for us at local restaurants, baked us a fresh cake every morning and baked our favorite on our last day, lended us her blender so we can make purées for our son and helped us contact a pharmacy when we had a medical emergency. Simone showed us the marvelous Tuscan sky and stars at night using his telescope and brought my father to see the agricultural land to meet the farmers (it was on his wish list).||We intended to stay at the Relais Val D’Orcia for 3 nights and ended up staying for a week with our family. ||We loved every second of our experience.
