If I could give no stars for this experience, I would! My fiancé and I booked this visit prior to our arrival in Italy and following watching a promotional video, booked ourselves a place at the hot springs. Once we arrived in Tuscany, we took a drive to take a look at the hot springs the day before our visit only to discover the hot springs are free of charge and are separate to the Saturnia Spa, even though it is portrayed in the promotional video it is all part of the same package! We decided to enter the hot springs late in the evening and upon entering, noticed the floors are seriously not bare foot friendly, lots of drunk people swaying around, very badly lit, has no shape or form of health & safety and the biggest of all, the god awful pong created from ‘natural springs’. It soon became very clear that the water is not naturally heated and is sourced from a boiler system a few miles up the road and the water contains sulphur which creates the bad odour. To note; the sulphur has damaged both mine and my fiancé’s jewellery due to the sulphur which now has to all be professionally cleaned. Following this unpleasant experience, we cancelled our visit for the following day and requested a full refund. The advisor wrote back that ‘unfortunately’ a refund could not be issued and the reservation has to be held for one year and must be rebooked. This for us is an entire end game and are taking this further should they choose not to issue a refund....
Read moreLet’s face it - English only tourists need an interpreter. From even before we arrived (after dark) Cristina’s excellent English put us at ease. She sent a video explaining how to find our room & key, so we were confident arriving at night.||In the morning after a wonderful breakfast- she checked us in. Then made reservations for us at the Terme di Saturnia Hot Springs Club and also explained how to find free secure parking available to hotel guests at the gorgeous but crowded Public thermal springs. ||Upon departure and at our request she made reservations for another hotel that I doubt we would have been successful making. ||Also have to mention the local stray cats which seem reasonably looked after by the guests and staff. If you like cats, they add fur and fun and purrs...
Read moreUn buon agriturismo prettamente a conduzione familiare.
