I would love to give this a high rating because Roberto and the staff were great and the location is good. I will also say that it’s very safe. Because of these items I will bump my 3 up to a 4.
I can’t give it a high rating because there were more than a dozen items in the room that needed a hand on it. Simple things which makes you wonder what the issue is. I didn’t see other rooms but the maid service attempted to come in every day with no way to say “do not disturb”. The first day I thought it was someone at the wrong room because I don’t speak Italian. The next day I left and when I came back the room had been reset.
So, to give specifics about the room. The trip around the door was loose and falling apart at the bottom. One of the shower doors were missing, there was some mold/mildew and the hand attachment receiver was loose both in holding the attachment position and the height. The toilet seat was loose. There were several spider webs in multiple locations, water damage behind the radiator, towel hook was missing hardware and loose. As you can see, with a screw driver and pliers I could have fixed most of it in less than 30 min which makes you wonder “why?”
To end on a high note, the staff always greeted me with a smile when they’d see me coming or going, I really appreciated that. There breakfast system is nice as well, you receive redeemable cards for a local cafe and it’s pretty great there as well.
I would definitely stay again, I would just like to see this review motivate the maintenance needed to make the...
Read moreAbout to leave Italy on our way to the Mont Blanc tunnel, Voghera made a convenient stopover. Corte delle Rose was a three minute walk from the Cathedral Square set in a private courtyard with ample free parking for residents. There was Wi-Fi, T.V. and air-con. in our self contained apartment, and the place was both spotless and rather stylish. For breakfast, we were given a voucher to be used in a local patisserie, two minutes walk away, which was a novel, but enjoyable way to start the day. The proprietor was very helpful even though his English and our Italian were both of the hand sign competence level! ||At about 85 euros for the night, this was great value in a town with one or two good family restaurants. but few hotels. We would definitely...
Read moreFor me the two most important things in a hotel are a comfortable bed and good shower. Corte delle Rose missed on both. The mattress was unbearably uncomfortable, lumpy, squeaky, with a big dip in the middle. The pillow was thin and hard. ||The shower was large and had good pressure but it was dirty! Seems nobody thought to clean the walls or floor. ||The central but quiet location and pretty decor couldn’t make up for loss of...
