Do you want to be calm and enjoy your vacation to the fullest? Don't go there!!! Completely disorganized place, you call, ask for information for the reservation, ask for a late check out with the room and they tell you that you can only check the room on the day of arrival based on the reservations, you are also told that you can easily arrive at 8 in the morning and already use the hotel services? WHICH ONE? I will list them below!!! You book and arrive at the reception at 11.00 in the morning, you check in and they tell you that you can already change and use the lunch and spa area until the room is ready. You ask to be given a locker to store your things while you change and there are no lockers available. A structure with at least 300 rooms and only twenty lockers available is inconceivable You are forced to change and have to go and carry your bag to the car. This is nothing, it's 12:30 to go to lunch and they tell you that you can't go in your bathrobe, COULDN'T YOU TELL US AT CHECK IN THAT WE WOULD AVOID CHANGING, BRINGING EVERYTHING IN THE CAR AND HAVING TO GO BACK TO CHANGE? You are forced to go back to the garage, open the car, get dressed in the garage, also because there are two changing rooms located in the hotel and it's quicker to have this inconvenience than to go and look for a free changing room, you get dressed and show up at the restaurant. Once again it's inconceivable to keep only one restaurant room open and not find a place to sit, forced to walk around with your plate in your hand hoping that someone gets up, and in the meantime what you've eaten gets cold, it's not the best quality, let alone cold We go back to the reception since they told us that the room was probably ready earlier than expected and they tell us that we didn't see the program and that the colleague wasn't answering. Answer: GO UP AND SEE IF IT'S READY Get the room a few minutes before the scheduled time and maybe the holiday begins. The new pool is the adult only area, the only strong point of the hotel, too bad the water temperature doesn't encourage you to go in, too cold, ditto the outdoor pool and the connections between inside and outside force you to get out of the water and with -3 degrees it's not pleasant, I didn't have a place to keep my bathrobe handy. The paths that lead from one area to another are not clean and full of ice with the risk of falling and hurting yourself. The old spa area should be closed, obsolete and poorly functioning. It's time for dinner and in the elevator you find signs with because of the many people leaving to check out you have to show up to settle the bill by 9:30 pm After dinner we settle the bill also paying a late check out with a supplement of 40 euros to use the following day. In the morning we discover that the pools open at 11 and the saunas at 2 pm What do I do with the late check out if I can't use the facility in the morning? We decide to leave the hotel, we show up at the reception with extremely unfriendly staff so as not to use offensive terms and since it's 9.50 we ask to check out immediately and not to use the late check out The answer: WE CANNOT GIVE YOU THE 40 EURO BECAUSE YOU HAVE ALREADY PAID First you ask to pay in the evening and then I don't use the service and you don't give me my money back. In conclusion, the facility is not a 4 star, terrible treatment and inadequate services for the cost 500 euros for two people and 22 hours of stay I would say...
Read moreHotel Schneeberg tries to impress as a family hotel. However, while it does offer some nice features, it overall fails to live up to the promise. Hotel Schneeberg is located in Masseria, a beautiful little spot in South-Tyrol. It offers a variety of amusements, such as bowling, a spa area, and a kids club for the little ones. Especially the adults-only swimming pool is very nice and offers a breath-taking view of mountains (as does the panorama sauna). Unfortunately, there are many things that aren't quite thought through and cannot compare to e.g. Austrian Tyrol standards for family hotels. The rooms are rather small and if you get sick (what seemed to happen to a lot of people we met here), it's hard to endure. The soap in the bathroom is hard to push - too hard for many children below age 10 I guess. There are no boundaries around the pond or pool, so especially if your kids are young, you really need to watch out. The area where young children can ride the bobby car is a combined room also for teenagers with for-pay games (like kicker, nothing violent). These games however were broken when we were here. Same was true for the bowling, which has to be paid in 15 minute intervals, but we needed service three times to be able to play. Food is definitely below average with little selection (especially when it comes to healthy choices) and no organic food. Everything in between the three regular meals needs to be paid separately (including water). This is also true for ice cream for dinner, which sometimes needs to be paid and sometimes (or some people?) not. What's more: there's only one washing machine for 600-700 guests, there's shortage of water cookers, there are absolutely no special utilities for little children as is standard in most family hotels (such as backup-diapers, baby food, baby bottles etc), opening times of the spa area is many times not as promised/announced, some rooms are affected by noise from nearby construction sites starting at 7 in the morning and you don't get discount from your room fee (which most hotels do, especially if they didn't warn you ahead of time). The number of elevators is extremely low and the size too tiny if you're dependent on it. Sometimes waiting time can exceed 15(!) minutes. In summary, this is a mediocre hotel that can't compare to many family hotels we've been to that cost the same and have the same amount of stars. Most importantly, it's not really well designed for especially...
Read moreCON: We paid a really very very high price for our all inclusive light stay and the quality of the room wasn’t as expected. Whereas other guests paid less and got modernised rooms we got an old one which was old furniture and bath room air systems not working properly. During the breakfast we found out after half of our stay that we can order coffees instead of using the machine which had an absolute poor taste for a 4 star hotel. And after critisizing the missing vegetarian food we where told just to ask. “You can get everything, just if you ask for it.” But I don’t want to ask for everything and wait until someone understands me during every meal time. As I have paid a lot for this stay in a 4 star hotel I expect from the hotel that they proactively ask me if all is fine and they offer me coffee and tell me what vegetarian alternatives we have. Also the plate where eggs are made was mixed up with ham. They offered to clean it before we order our egg stuff but that’s not so 100%. All in all I find a lot missing for what the hotel is advertising themselves. Also I would recommend to the hotel to immediately work on air systems in the lower levels where kids play facilities are located (air quality very poor), the outside play ground for kids is very old with broken woods (risk of injury) and to have a doctor nearby. With 600 beds and family focus it should a doctor available and a pharmacy at least. Our kids got sick and I had to drive 30min in the middle of the night to find a pharmacy to get some fever reducing medicine. Also there is a huge constructions/modernisation going on which neither was told before nor reflecting in a lower price. PRO: the service personell be it in the kitchen, reception or room service was very kind and always helpful. The hotel is overall very nice, has a tremendous spa and swimming facilities (some under construction still), kids play area and child care services (personell also very kind and nice). It’s a nice location, massive hotel construction with a lot of possibilities to get a nice time.
I hope the hotel responsible people read this and act on...
