This is an excellent hotel in the most beautiful location looking down a superb valley with mountains either side. We stayed for a week and if we could have we would have extended it!||||The south tirol is a charming part of Italy even though in fact you feel more like you are in southern germany or austria! We booked a Suite Telferweissen for the first 4 days and we then moved to suite Roskopf as there was availability issues when we booked late.... They were excellent and moved everything for us in minutes. The Telferwessen suite was large and roomy, the website shows each room type accurately, the second suite was one of their newest again as per website and was very contemporary and excellently appointed. Clearly they are slowly upgrading all the rooms but the original suite was perfectly ok.||||The staff were extremely friendly and helpful and were extremely attentive. The breakfast buffet offered a huge choice and they offered to cook eggs freshly which was good. The evening menu was always varied, offered alternatives and the only comment was there was too much to eat! The food was well cooked, presented and served and there was a good and reasonably priced wine list. There were also afternoon cakes and ice cream was always available if you choose!||||The bar was again sizeable and a central meeting place with nice casual seating areas in and outside. The wellness and leisure areas were sizeable and well presented. The pool was in/out and large, with large seating ares both in and outside. My wife had a couple of wellness treatments and was impressed.||||Outside of the hotel, this is a walkers paradise with literally hundreds of kilometers of marked walks. We also visited the local town's of Sterzing and Brixen and both were beautiful places to wander, take a coffee and browse the shops.||||My only slight criticisms are the wifi which was only available on the main floor but they told us that this is being fixed and we saw the work in progress... and there is no indoor car park, with the outdoor one not tarmacked ||||It is clear that many guests were her for repeat visits and I can see why. The clientele (looking in the car park) was 90% german 10% Italian and ours was the only swiss car there but that was fine by us! ||||I would thoroughly recommend the hotel for a great getaway stress free holiday, we will...
Read moreWe came for a week in late winter. This is supposed to be a 4 star hotel, but it is most certainly nothing like 4 stars. The rooms are rustic and small, with a tiny bathroom, with a shower stall that looks like those in the cheapest short-stay motels, with a ventilator that sounds like a jet engine taking off. The choice of TV channels is limited to German and Italian. The Internet connection is very slow, and it took some help from the desk to even get that to work.||The views are spectacular-- snow-capped Alps all around. The health facility is large and well equipped, although there are not enough chaise lounges or even wall hooks for all the towels and bath robes. We liked the saunas and the heated swimming pool, part of which is outside.||The main problem here is the service-- very few waiters, who are hurried and inattentive. It took me 15 (fifteen!) minutes to get a cup of tea at dinner, and when it arrived it was a cup of hot water with a tea bag near it. The waiters speak very little English, and are thus not very helpful with suggestions or explanations.||The food was disappointing, too, with the possible exception of the breakfast buffet, which-- as is common in European hotels-- is large and varied.||The nearby attractions are mostly ski (in season) and hiking. There is an outlet center in Brenner, which is nice but very crowded on weekends.||All in all, given the high price and the difficulty of getting here, it was certainly a big...
Read moreThe positives: ||The location of the hotel is fantastic, summer or winter. The room we had was extremely large with a great bathroom, shower and whirlpool, fitness trainer, separate toilet. Large lounge, mini bar and balcony with a view of the valley. For us tea drinkers there was a kettle but bring your own tea bags.||Nice reception apero on the evening of our arrival ||||Indoor and outdoor connecting swimming pool, nicely heated, stainless steel lined not tiled, which is something really special. The wellness and sauna area was extremely well equipped with enough room for privacy. The set menu dinner was great value, great presentation and good service. The anti pasti buffet was unbelievable. ||||Now to a few negative points or room for improvement||- Only outdoor parking, which is no good in winter whenit's _20 Deg C||- No kids program for families with kids under 10, which is usual for Austria and Süd Tirol||- Evening dinner is advertised from 18:30 - 19:30, which stresses and should be ignored, don't turn up before 19:30 as the kitchen is under pressure severing the families with younger children||- Always well booked, don't bother trying to extend ||- No wireless connection in the room only in...
