Such a special experience at Stardust Glamping!
Driving into Mokki SG was fun as we saw several geometric domes dotting the autumnal scenery overlooking a river. The domes had a spacey vibe and were truly see-through at the front. (The in-room heater kept us all warm and toasty so no worries even though it was about 10 degrees out!) The dome accomodated the 4 of us easily and the interiors were of the Japandi style. The log cabin with the WC and shower and spacious dining-washing up area was literally 2 steps from our dome. Dinner was such a treat as we feasted on beef, chicken skewers, sausages, scallops and root veggies which we bbqued ourselves! Pumpkin soup, 2 hearty starters ( mozzarella as well as a seafood tomato stew) and baked apples for dessert were also included - burrp!! Beverages were self-selected from their complimentary drink stand located centrally amidst the guest camps.
After feeding ourselves well, we got ready for lights-out on campground. All lights are turned off ( and guests are encouraged to comply ) for about an hour to get the optimal viewing of the nightsky. The majesty of the stars kept us entranced for the next hour or so. Deck chairs were provided next to our dome for us to lie back and enjoy the air! Peaceful experience!
Breakfast the next day was sandwiches, yoghurt and local milk delivered the night before. Lovely fare, I made coffee ( from a selection offered upon check-in ) with the frothy local milk - nice!
All in all, it was a well-run and unique experience. Novel for a one-night or two-night stay. Highly...
Read moreWe were visiting friends nearby in Iida and found this location on Google Maps. Decided to try it for a fun splurge, and it did not disappoint!
The website is English-friendly and was simple to book accommodations.
Our family had a wonderful time. The staff was very kind and professional, even though our Japanese is limited. There was even assistance with luggage when we checked in! Fresh coffee beans and hotel-style amenities were available in the main building.
We booked a riverside dome, which was wonderful for privacy. The sound of the river was a lovely ambiance. Everything was very stylish and "hygge" - the decor and furnishings were perfect. Beds were very comfortable, with extra fluffy comforters.
I was able to request a larger size of clog slippers and the staff brought multiple sizes. We felt welcome at the campfire and enjoyed roasting marshmallows. The community feeling of the entire campsite was fun.
The BBQ dinner was delicious and plentiful. A child's meal set was also included. The drink bar was a nice amenity and available until 8:30pm. A water tank was included in our annex kitchen, and there was also a vending machine on-site.
I recommend this glamping site, especially for groups or families. It was very child-friendly, and even had a play tent with toys and games for kids. There were also cute photo areas at the back of...
Read moreStrongly recommend NOT to visit if you’re a foreigner.
1.When we entered the parking lot, no staff came to greet or guide us. But we noticed staff promptly welcoming and assisting two other groups of local guests.
2.During our two-night stay, we were informed at check-in that the housekeeping staff would clean the dining and kitchen area at 10:30 a.m. However, the staff directly opened the door to my room instead. Thankfully, I had locked it. When I opened the door, I saw her holding all the items from my refrigerator—she seemed ready to throw them away as garbage.
3.While I was eating in the dining room for about 30 minutes, I had to get up twice to open the door for staff—once for them to deliver utensils and another time to sign for dinner. The utensils could have been placed during cleaning, and the signature could have been handled during dinner service.
4.It was noisy at night, with a sound outside the tent that seemed like a generator. As I have sensitive hearing, it was difficult for me to sleep. Additionally, the tent was located near the reception, where the noise from people coming and going made it even worse.
5.For dinner, there were two of us, but we were only served one steak. I’m not sure if this is normal.
6.Payment was required upfront. Not sure if this is standard for everyone or if it was a treatment for foreigners because this was the first time I encountered such a process in...
