I have stayed here many times over many visits to Biei, and it's a wonderful place where you can feel the kindness of Biei residents. The host is very friendly and kind, she takes good care of her guests. The meals are also delicious! You can enjoy many local and seasonal ingredients. The rooms have a lovely "at home" feel and are very comfortable and cozy. I felt like I was in my childhood bedroom. The host also made a lot of the beautiful stained glass ornaments in the rooms and around the property herself. The location is also good. It is right at the entrance to the hills, but without being too far from Biei Station. Even if you don't have a car, you can cycle or walk there from the station (though in the winter it's better to take a taxi). Read moreThis guesthouse is located about 5 minute taxi ride away from the Biei JR station. ||We stayed in the cottage next to the main house. The cottage was very spacious with a large common room with 2 bedrooms and a bathroom and a toilet room. The futons were comfortable. ||We had some difficulty in getting some of devices connected to the Internet but it all worked out in the end. Host had limited English but was very patient and willing to help out on requests. ||There was also a gallery/arts craft shop on site that sold handcrafted and handwoven items.
