Hotel Dolphia — Hotel in Daisen

Each room is like a mini house with a private garage. It’s a love hotel and they are clever enough to realize they can get international business by being available on booking sites. Lucky me! They speak barely any English but are very friendly and we had no trouble communicating. Probably because it’s a love hotel, the rooms are much nicer than any business hotels in the city.

The room has love hotel amenities like mood lighting, a slot machine and massage chair.

My only concern is I booked a non-smoking room and there was an ashtray in my room. However, the room did not smell too much of smoke so I didn’t say anything about it. Tourists need to be careful because smoking is way too common in Japan and you need to be proactive to avoid...

During the Kanto Matsuri, there were no other lodging opportunities available in the city, so my friend and I had to hike in the darkness of the countryside for an hour.

The host was incredibly accommodating and friendly to our late arrival. I think we were the only ones who walked to the hotel rather than driving there.

The love hotel here is like a gated community of small homes. The rooms were large and spacious, and so too were the restrooms (potentially the largest I've visited in Japan).

結構快適に泊まれるが連泊は注意が必要。ビジホのような連泊に対応してないため途中電気が止められたり、人が宿泊してるのにドアガチャガチャ開けようとしたりで従業員の引き継ぎがさっぱりできてない。それと出かけるには鍵が管理人管理なので開け閉めのたび頼まなくてはいけない。これはめっちゃ不便。...
