Evergreen Fuji — Hotel in Fujiyoshida

Stayed here for a conference.

Highlights: The location is amazing is probably the closest resort hotel to fujisan. The staff was amazing and professional. I am not sure if the meals are usually available but were filling for Japan. The onsite onsen or perhaps a sento was larger than I expect for facility this size. The conferences rooms and hall are large for Japan. Our rooms were big and clean. And amazing views of fujisan. You can walk to a parking lot of a local brewery for a nice photo spot of Fujisan.

Downsides: It is very clear this facility is aging and needs a renovation. The facilities were in general clean. But there are rusting signs, in some of the conference rooms carpet tiles are peeling. The chairs and tables have long needed a refresh. The facility just feels old or on the edge of closing. But this is true of many hotels in Japan on the budget side.

If you are driving the parking lot is located beyond the entrance area and is a large gravel lot. Some of the roads in this area very narrow and dangerous. So be careful driving off the main area...

Amazing location . It was a pity that Fuji was lost in mist so no stunning views to be seen. Will look again in the morning. We arrived at about 6.30 this evening. Unfortunately the restaurant was closed with no explanation. This hotel is miles from anywhere. So no alternatives available without a long taxi ride. There are a generous number of vending machines scattered throughout and a small shop by the reception selling noodles in a pot and tourist chocolates. No bar. So in other words a little limited. Very disappointed. And I am not one to write negative reviews. Other than that the rooms are enormous and it is great...

We choose this hotel to stay for Fujisan Marathon. Although the hotel is not near the start point but they arrange shuttle bus to send all runners to Kawaguchiko station.

We are so impressive with the hospitality of all staffs. After the running, one of my friends had leg pain problem and need to see doctor. The front staff helped us to contact the hospital nearby . We were really appreciated.
