We visited in August. Staying here was such a great experience. The room is clean, modest, and comfortable. Each room has a private toilet, but showers are in the public bath area with onsen facilities. There are both indoor and outdoor onsens, and since they switch between men and women daily, you get to enjoy different views during your stay.
The food here is outstanding. We booked our stay with both dinner and breakfast, and everything served was fresh, seasonal, and delicious. Breakfast offers plenty of variety, while dinner felt like a real highlight—every dish was enjoyable. The hotel serves all the local specialties that the area is known for.

Read moreThe Wi-Fi is TERRIBLE. Cuts out all the bloody time, is excruciatingly slow, and is basically unusable. Install some decent hardware already. Any excuse for crappy wifi is not valid in 2024.
The breakfast is alright. Strangely I was literally the only one in the restaurant at a fairly normal breakfast time (8:00), and that's probably because it's just alright. It's Japanese style, set meal type, and drinks are "self serve". Coffee is a big pot of drip coffee - let's you drink it for the caffeine and nothing else.
