Outdoor style AMIDA — Hotel in Gujo

It’s such a shame I have to go give 2 stars. The place is beautiful and has so much potential but the staff member we dealt with is very unfriendly, not accommodating and it seems not interested in their work. We arrived here to have a coffee break at the cafe before we headed back as we loved the decor and the ambience of the place. The staff however was too busy talking with friends to even bother to see if we wanted anything. All four of us waited by the counter so we could order our coffees and he was just still talking and ignoring us. We then had to ask who we can order with and his friend pointed him out and THEN he came over to take our orders without even so much as a smile. I find it appalling that he wasn’t even forthcoming when we asked who could take our order until his friend pointed him out. He then got the order wrong as he didn’t write anything down. We had a few questions about things they had for sale there as we wanted to buy things, we tried asking in English then our Japanese friend translated into Japanese for him to understand and he just stood there like a mute. Not a single word out of his mouth. So we just paid and left....

Wow! Exceptional find in the foothills of Hakusan park. The food was off the chain, all made onsite and the host/owner was wonderfully kind. I think the other reviews are clearly misguided expectations, this place delivers in exactly as it promises. The vibe is laid back, so don't expect a waiter wanting to take your order!! If you would like something just ask, throw in some basic Japanese and the staff will meet you with their own food English. Even if you're not staying stop for the tacos and food, incredible quality at reasonable prices! Only regret is staying only...

Sugoi! Absolutely incredible experience! Cool, chill, relaxed vibe. Felt at one with nature and the surroundings. The food was incredible! Tacos were so delicious and the breakfast was so good! All organic and natural food! Would absolutely recommend a stay here! The outdoor wood burning sauna was a special experience under the stars. Such a beautiful setting in nature surrounded by mountains and forests! The owner was so nice and accommodating! Loved the vibe he has created at Amida...
