Seitenkaku — Hotel in Hita

Booked it on Trip.com in April 2025.||I was in Fukuoka and tried to reach Amagase by train, to go to the hotel. Unfortunately I needed a bit of support because the train system might be confusing for a first timer. Therefore I contacted the hotel by email and since they didn't answer I called them. Unfortunately they do not speak English and asked me for "email, email". Well, I told them I wrote one, but unsurprisingly they didn't understand. Well, so I waited. Then some times later I got the email that there is a night check in - well, great, but how do I reach you?|And then after quite some time I got the answer "now just by taxi" - this would cost 160 USD. |The location is great and horrible at the same time, because if you don't know japanese train system you might have a hard time and the Hotel will DEFINITELY NOT help you. |As the cream of the crop they, after all that drama (also with the trip support) and many promises and none of them kept, they refused the refund and are rude enough to say they kept the room for me all night, when we realized I cannot reach them anymore. They offered still free rooms over trip and booking to that day, so there was no financial damage for them, but for me. This is a very shady business -...

The hotel doesn't speak English and answers emails very late, problematic communication led to a point where I couldn't go to the hotel and had to stay in Fukuoka for the night. Completely refuse to cooperate and refuse any cancellation and refund even in the afternoon before checking in. No financial harm was done to them and still no refund possible even though their communication led to this point - shady business....
