Minakami Hodaigi Camping Ground — Hotel in Honshu

Not the best facility I have ever used here in Japan. Bring your own sleeping bags, they rip you off with the rentals. It was like 3,000 yen per night, not per stay. The grounds are unkempt, bushy and bumpy everywhere. The coin operated shower is super far from the main building and very difficult to operate. (The lights do not turn on unless you lock the door from inside, the directions posted are hard to understand even in Japanese. The water runs for like only 2-3 min.) There are not too many options out this way, so they can charge ppl whatever they feel like, but cmon, some of the stuff is down right ridiculous; e. g., the barbeque pit has to be reserved/paying...

The Minakami Hodaigi Camping Grounds offers a variety of lodging such as cabin trailers, bungalows, cottages, Lodge Hotakasan (2 floors building). Price include a nice barbecue plancha, outside, and access to an indoor bath with shower. Soba restaurant. Try the local plants Tempura fukinoto and taranome. Wifi access. There is a shop where you can rent all camping equipment, for a reasonable cost up to sheets and pillow. Bike rental. A very nice place wuth many attractions around. Good place for camping, you could see the stars on a clear day/ night. Take note that not every lavatory has a bidet toilet / hand wash, some have a bidet , some don't. You just have to find the correct one. We found that near the bungalow, entrance and near the laundry room. Better to take a hand wash by yourself. Otherwise for camping and bbq the place was...
