I came here to check out the day onsen. If you are looking for something really, really off the beaten path, this is your place. There are five private onsens that you can use on the ground. It’s quite expensive (1500 yen plus towel and robe rental extras) considering how dilapidated the entire “village” is. Junk piles in random areas. It was just me traveling solo and also a day where I was the only one there. It took me a while to even figure out where the reception area was. definitely gave me the sense of seclusion and remoteness and discovery. if you have a limited time to try out an onsen, this should not be it. But if you have time to wander, discover, and try new things, this could be a potential spot. The reception area people were kind.

Excellent location, the view is amazing. It's too far to walk anywhere, but the staff is beyond accommodating. They will drive you to nearby attractions and pick you up. Not only that, but the manager took us to a pharmacy, and helped us buy some medicine for our daughter. She also offered to take us to a doctor if needed. The food taste amazing and a lot of care have been put into the presentation.

We tend to travel cheap. This was a last day/night in Japan splurge for us. We really wanted to experience a traditional Japanese ryokan with hot spring baths (onsen). It was all we could hope for. The onsen was excellent. There are several private pools and one or two shared mixed gender pools. All have a great view of the ocean over a green hill. All are just the right temperature: not too hot to get in, but plenty hot to get every muscle to relax after a long walk at the Jogasaki coast below. The dinner and breakfast was also amazing. You must like Japanese obsession with raw seafood, but if that is ok with you, there is no better. Fresh from the fishing village just bellow the fish, squid, snails and oysters are on the table within 15 minutes of leaving the boat. There were few cooked, steamed and fried courses as well. All very good but the raw stuff was the most special. Not just in quality but in presentation as well. Every plate is a piece of art and the food is arranged with an artistic flare as well.||The room was just amazing. After traveling for a week on low budget, we had a fill of places where one of us had to get on the bed so the other could pass by. Since we were here at low season (only one other couple was staying there at the same time) they gave us a complimentary upgrade to a suite with its own onsen bath. And it was truly a suite. It had a spacious sitting room, a bedroom, a porch, a separate sink and toilet rooms, an entrance hall and another gorgeous hot spring bath and shower room. All in the traditional Japanese style with gorgeous sliding screens/walls and carved wooden details.||The service was also exceptional. They picked up our luggage at Futo station so that we could go walk the coast. Then they picked us up again when we were ready to go up to the ryokan. Obviously, they also dropped us off the next morning. George, the Rumanian "gaijin" son in law, speaks excellent English, so there is now language problem.||And last superlative: in overcrowded Japan, this place was secluded. Sitting in the onsen looking out at the ocean, there was no one lese around. It...

I enjoyed Fujiyoshi Izuten so much! It is such a beautiful place with great views. ||Booked by emailing them, Ms. Miwako Ishiyama who was very helpful with the meal plans, allergy requirements, room availability. ||Went in December which was really cold. Not too pleasant to be traipsing around the large property to onsen hop. Bring a jacket with you! Most of the areas are not enclosed. They have various onsen for you to try with various view points. ||Dinner was fantastic, variety of sashimi, alfonsino and large spread of food. Good to sit down and enjoy your dinner!||Breakfast was another grand affair. Sashimi and sushi for breakfast! Thought that only happened in Hokkaido. Even in my previous trips to Izu (1 week long) they hardly served such a sumptuous seafood breakfast. Value for money, hence the price for this property is higher. Go for the deluxe meal plan if you can. You won't regret it. ||I can't remember if they have issues for communication in English, as we could speak Japanese. I do remember seeing another group speaking English with them though. ||We got the Bousou room which was quite spacious but a little wasted with 3 pax. There was a half rotenburo in our room but we didn't use it. Rooms are a little cold, but they do have heaters placed strategically along the path in our villa when you go to the toilet.||This place has great sunrise views. Wake up early and explore the property. You can go for your bath early in the morning with no one to bother you. ||Service was great, ambience was great, onsen was great, views were great. What's there not to like about this place?||To top things off, I actually left my backpack behind. They tried calling my mobile, however as it was an overseas number, they could not reach me. They emailed me within an hr to tell me so, however I only noticed it 3-4 hours later. It was a good thing we were still in Izu and turned...
